Default Car Hesitation While Driving...

Just started yesterday and now it feels like it's progressing. While driving and coming to a stop the engine feels like it hestitates. I noticed some battery corrosion, but could it be something worse? Any ideas? I noticed it started when my fuel tank was really low.

ALL bearings WILL fail.. eventually.... Check them at least once a year... more often is better....

Dont want to hijackt this thread, so back on topic....

I shouldnt say hesitation, but it seems to be when the car goes into 2nd gear or around 1800-2200 rpm the car just jerks like it wants to go but hesitates. I bought it from the original owner, but need to get the tranny fluid change i think the mechanic told me it was looking dirty. Could this be the cause. I also have the original battery that has built up some corrosion around it.

How old is the original battery? You should get it replaced as soon as you can if it is over 4 years old... it could start getting weak at any time and causing odd happenings with the electoronics.....

Mike, I think its the original battery because it has the chrysler logo on it, so i'm thinking it came with the car. Is their a date of production on it?

Why would the age of the battery affect how the car drives? Assuming it starts it runs off the alternator doesn't it?

Our cars are very dependent on battery voltage due to all the electronics in the car, a weak battery can cause all kinds of wierd stuff in the electrical system. The car needs to see 12 + volts all the time from the battery.

still shouldn't affect it when the alternators running unless it is faulty too. As for lots of electronics it has less "toys" than my last car which was turbo'd, 4x4, esp etc etc. Do you mean a low battery affects things before you start and then these faulty settings stay in place? that would be a good bit of design

Bad MAF sensor can cause the car to jerk violently.
It will probably be temperature sensitive too, gets worse the hotter the maf gets.

I will second the possibility of it being the MAF sensor.
You might want to consider pulling the MAF out, and spraying it with MAF cleaner, and putting it back in. You might get lucky.
