Well, I havent been on here for a few days now because my xfire is totaled. while turning at 25mph, she slid real quick and jumped over a curb. no body damage but the driver side rear wheel was facing inward (torn apart wheel bearing?) so it was wobbling as i tried to drive her so i called the insurance company and towed it to one of their shops. Well, total repairs 7.299 ( bunch of stuff needed to be replaced according to them) plus i was told that the car wouldnt go into any gears which is strange because after the "small" accident, i drove the car around the parking lot and parked it myself and it was just like the day i bought her.

I was given 11.343 for her. almost 2500 more than what i paid for. This was after the deduction i got from the paint. You know the previous owner painted the silver trims? Or else i was getting 12k for it.

I may pick up another white crossfire tomorrow. I have a thing for white xfires now. It has 38k miles on it, stock for 10,500. Good deal or no?

Anyway, I cant believe this happened but I need to get me another car ASAP.

P.S. this is my first and only accident ever in my life. I will post pics later and you will NOT be able to tell the car was in any kind of accident what so ever but actually she was totaled

Sorry to hear about that Erdal. Can you scavange any parts off it before they take possession? Or, is it too late already.

I tried but they said no. They would only allow me to take my kicker subs. But they asked me to replace with the original ones and i said it didnt have it when i bought it da da da. bunch of hassle and they said ok. I wanted to take the radio as well but they said that unless i put another one in, they wouldnt allow me.

I cant believe how fast all this happened. accident happened on the 11th and today is the 14th, i got paid, paid the car off and good to go. lol

and even better ya didn't drop any $$ at Eurocharged a few weeks ago.

Good luck with the search for her replacement but please don't rush into anything.
Get a rental car and use it while you search for another Crossfire.

 

Your car was cursed from the beginning. It was lowered and tampered with which could be why the car got messed up when hitting a curb. I can't imagine a whole car would be totaled for something like that... but whatever. Was it raining or something? Were you driving drunk? I don't know how you could slide that bad to hit a curb and mess up your car.

Here is the great news! You got your money. Now you can go out and get something that wasn't tampered with. This time around take your time and be patient when you are picking out the next car. The right car will come along. Just don't jump for the first problem child you see Now that you have experience with these cars you can be smarter when looking (meaning you will see the signs and know what you are looking at).

 

Musclefan .... I met you very briefly at the Eurocharged Open House recently. Your loss disturbed me a lot, because it's like losing a favorite pet. You become so attached, it becomes part of you. I've lost 2 pets in my life, and it's tough....... until you get a new PUPPY! The good part is you should know what you'd like. Go for it ..... with patience.... and get a thorobred ..... SRT !!!!!!!!!! I know there is no white ones ...... but BLACK RULES !!!! Good Luck .....

 

Forget about the SRT... I would be happy if he just got a crossfire that is stock with no modifications or issues. A car he doesn't have to repair or fix and only needs to modify. Be patient and pick the right car Muscle! Don't jump at the first chance you get.

Just like a woman.... don't settle... find the right piece of A.... Otherwise you will get lots of headaches!

The beauty is Muscle now knows the crossfire well. That experience will come a long way when picking out the right car.

Yes it was pouring raining and i gotta admit, my rear tires were bald as hell. I was looking for a set of tires just a day before the accident. I have posted the pics after the accident to the original post.

ok, in all seriousness, I have been looking at another crossfires for the last two days and nothing sounded good but only one. it is a white crossfire BONE STOCK, no modiications, right as it came from the factory. 1 adult owner. 38k miles for 10.500

It's becoming far too common here that these cars get totaled because the cost of repairs is too close to the value. What used to be a $40-50k car 5-6 years ago is now totaled with only $7k in repairs. Sad, very sad.

I'm sorry to hear that...I know that feeling, my Crossfire was totaled after being rear ended a few years ago...I'm finally getting another one next week...I can't wait to pick it up
