Default CD Player skipping

Just curious, does anyone else have a problem with cds skipping when hitting railroad crossings, major bumps, etc? I know this car can ride kind of rough, but...

My original radio didn't skip over bumps, but it went haywire from time to time: skipping, jumping tracks, repeating parts of the CD. It only happened a couple of times, but it hasn't happened at all since I traded the "washed out display" radio for one with a display I can read in daylight.

Hey Readymade - my CD player skipped a few times the first few days when I went over bumps, but either hasn't been skipping since then, or maybe when i've gone on bumpy roads I haven't had the CD player on. What's more interesting is that these radios display some weird things depending on the station - the station's name, the DJ, the song title, even the weather forecast!

The stock radio (made by becker in Denmark) is very Euro and different than we are used to. Once I had the CD player is 'search' mode and it was playing a few secs of every track then skipping to the next. It will even do the same for the radio if you leave it in the 'search' mode. It seems like you press the right **** to stop this....am I right? Im doing this by memory...

Disclaimer: Yes I know its probably bumps causing Readymade's skips but I wanted to mention this because it might this that caused Diane's or Greg's to 'skip'. :?:

Getting pretty fed up with my cd skipping, going to get it replaced. It skips even going over smooth surfaces

My 330 bmw sport does that over bumbs. It has to do with the stiff suspension and low profile tires. The ride is harder than most cars and the cd player can only allow for so much tolerance.

My solution may not be helpful. I-pod.

Off the subject, I noticed your avatar, your xfire is striped, is it not?
Any enlarge photo? Please, thank you.

Yeah, mine skips too. This Becker unit doesn't have an "Anti-Skip" memory (remember Sony Walkman?). Almost all units $100 and up do have this feature. Go figure!

Mine skips sometimes. I have noticed that certain CDs skip more than most. I have no ideas why this would be. Maybe cheaper production of the CD? But I do have occasional skipping without a doubt.

Mine skips too, i have the pioneer system (limited coupe). I also have this problem with my right speaker going out on dips/bumps and sharp turns or whenever it feels like taking a break..

Any body find a fix for this yet? i really don't want to take it to my old stereo shop because im 90% positive they havent worked on a crossfire before and dont want my car to be the guinea pig..
