Default Attaching Front License Plate

I recently received the permanent plates for my Black Crossfire. Do I really have to bore a hole in the front bumper to attach or is there some other way? Not very intuitative. Thanks.

Default heavy duty velcro...or dash board.

i wouldn't take delivery of my car with holes in the bumper...my state requires a front plate but i have refused for over 10 years with just a warning...luck me i guess. cross my fingers.

Same here Andrew. I refused to buy from a dealership that preinstalled the front license plate brackets. I was able to drive for 5 years on the last car without having to mount a bracket into the bumper, and I'll do it again. Connie....don't do it! Go with no front plate until a cop forces you to.

No way on the drilling (that is very painful tosay). I too live in Texas and there is NO way I'd put on a front plate. YEs, it's the law, but it's one of those laws that you will not get pulled over for (hopefully), but if you get pulled over for some other reason, they will probably ticket ya...

i agree. here in md we have front and rear tags. i purchased my car in fl where only a rear tag is necessary. today i realized that my front tag bracket was in a plastic bag back in the hatch along with the special tool. i used to have a vette and the dealer asked me if i wanted to leave the front tag off. i drove that car for 3 years and was never stopped for not having a front tag. i figure i'll take my chances with the crossfire too. but make sure you carry your front tag in the car with you somewhere in the event you are stopped. i can't imagine there would be any serious consequences or fines for leaving it off. on the other hand, if you have outstanding warrants or are prone to driving double the speed limit with a beer in your cupholder, you might want to bite the bullet and drill the holes.
