Question 2010 Camaro

I am thinking about trading my 2005 Limited in on a 2010 Camaro. What do you think? I would like the Forums feedback. Thanks

I'd strongly suggest you read the latest Car & Driver magazine... they just did a full eval on the RS Camaro and hated it.

It LOOKS good, but they said the V-6, even at 306 horsepower, was simply too out-of-breath to push the 3800# beast around town.

And, my take:

The Crossfire has been out six years longer, and I STILL see fewer X-fires than RS Camaros. Yes, I'm referring to the newest ones. And I simply HATE the ride of the Camaro.

You'll miss your X-fire, especially if you get the V-6 Camaro. If you're gonna make the jump, make it a JUMP not a hop down.

My two cents...

nice upgrade, they will be common on the road soon but they are nice cars. v6 or v8? either is nice.

go for an SS. they ARE fast, faster than SRTs and also nice cars. However, I think Xfire looks better.

They almost got me twice but I'm staying put. I like the car a lot but there are a lot of them around here and very few Crossfires. I thiought I'd never say that about a GM product again. I'll keep my Crossfire because I like having a unique car. That said I think the Camaro is well built, saw the build show on HD network a few weeks back. My next car, if there is a next one, will be a Cobra kit form Factory 5 Racing. Once the Crossfire is paid for hopefully that will be my next toy.

Don't throw P.R. in with the rest. GM sells less in P.R. than Toyota, Nissan, Hundai, Kia, Suzuki, Ford, etc.

I have mixed feelings on the Camaro. Judging by the GM car I rented in 2009 I would stay away from most of the cars they make.

Best I have seen in 13.3 & 13.4 in the 1/4 for the SS

I would wait for the SC Z28 next year if you really want one. Of course they will likely sell at a premium the first year.

Wait for the convertible to come out. It looks pretty good in the photos.

I'd get a SS if I had room in the garage for it. But I wouldn't give up the thrill of driving a Crossfire for one.

neighbor has a black one....feels like driving a tank to one of my XF's and it makes noise and goes nowhere....they aren't faster than an SRT either...that I can tell you....as an old Camaro/Vette guy, wouldn't own one....unless they gave it to me....then it would see twin turbos...lol

If you want a muscle car, get the 2011 mustang. The v6 does 0-60 in 5.4 sec. With the limiter removed it should do 150mph as well. The V8 is insanely fast and they both will trump the comparable new camaro.

If you get one, get the SS. any other camaro is a waste of a vehicle.
I just got done putting a set of AR headers and a full corsa catback on one

Camaros, see them all of the time. RARELY see another Crossfire.
Srts are faster.

Drop tops are due late 2010 and they do look good. I have a friend that is a sales manager of a GM dealership here in Richmond, and he let me borrow/test drive an SS for the weekend. The car was fully loaded, yellow w/black racing stripes (not the Transformer Edition). The car is fast and has a nice exhaust note, interior finishes are not the greatest, but adequate. Waiting on the drop tops to hit his dealership and then I will make a decision on whether to get one or not.

The mustang is the better car at the better price. Its better looking, faster, lighter, and cheaper. He didnt say he was looking for exclusivity. If he wants a rare car then the camaro and mustang are not for him.

lol better and faster is your opinion. i think the mustang is ugly, i never even give them a second look. they are plain brown wrapper boring.

the ls engine has 100000x more potential than the mustang ever will.

regardless he is asking about the camaro, not the insignificant mustang.
