Default Miles Per Tank?

How many miles you guys getting out of a full tank of gas?

330 miles max per tank is what I see.

I've got 4,000 miles on the car now. Use 93 premium fuel. Mix of city / highway driving. 6spd manual. I typically get gas once the light comes on.

Does this sound normal, or will it improve once the miles go up?

My normal driving is 65% Interstate and 35% city. I get 23 mpg. On trips with 95% Interstate I'm getting 27 mpg. I'm pretty pleased with that, because I don't screw around leaving lights. I still love to hear that exhaust.

though i'm still a newbie here, i would say it sounds normal. you still have around 2 gallons of reserve when the light comes on. so if it takes approx. 14 gallons at fill-up, your gas mileage is 23-24 mpg. not bad at all for combined city/hwy. gas mileage also tends to increase slightly during the first 10K miles or so for most engines.

my first couple of tanks i was getting 25 mpg hwy (350 miles) with my autostick. not too bad, but i expect it to improve somewhat. a little heavy acceleration did not help. of course the thing is so much fun to drive that i may never experience how many miles it is capable of on one tankful.

hey rob - been logging each tankful since ownership and avg is 25-27mpg (though most of my 11.5k mi thus far is highway, there is enough stop/go city to balance to get a real feel for true mpg).

city, i would say i'm averaging 22-24mpg...but my log based since ownership is a steady 25-27mpg. bonster

ps have found (tested upon curiosity and wanting to test accuracy) that 2 gal reserve is about right when light comes on...as mine has and i've filled up, this reserve has proven pretty accurate consistently.

70% of my driving is stop and go freeway commuting (80miles per day) plus a little hot rodding here and there, and I get between 21 and 23 mpg. On a road trip from San Fran for 400 miles averaging about 85 mph or so the whole way (only stopped for gas), I got 28 mpg. I'm happy!

Default cruising range

I reset my odometer every fill-up. This last weekend I pushed it close to "E" and went 380 miles between fill-ups, with all but 25 miles of that interstate, at least half of that on cruise control, but I can't say I was taking it easy on MPH either, feel I coulda gotten 400 miles with a little restraint.

I was going to bring up this very topic today, thank you Adam. Was watching the news this morning and they were talking about gas prices going up because of the Opec reduction of product. Here in the San Francisco/San Jose Bay Area of California we are paying anywhere from $2.20 for Premium to the whopping $3.00 in San Francisco! (So the media reports.) What are people paying in other parts of the country....or even in the UK and Ireland? Vegas? Houston? Virginia?

I'm still sad reading the other topic of the Roadster being delayed. My countdown was at 21 days.....I woke up thinking 21 and now my dreams are dashed.

Glad I live in Tidewater Va. 93 Octane is avaeraging about $1.79.9 here. I just topped off and with the new chip I got 24.221 mpg with my normal driving routine (mix 60% Interstate 40% city) except maybe a little more sticking my foot in it to feel the new power. I was getting right @ 23 mpg. I'm very pleased. Next thing is to take a long ride somewhere on the interstate so I can see what the new hwy mpg is. It was just over 27 mpg.

 Last weekend premium gas was $2.29/gal at our Arco station  I heard the prices would be up over $3.00/gal in SF. YIKES!!! Looks like the gas on our May 15th trip is going to be expensive. Oh well .....

There is a website - www.fuelcostcalculator.com that calculates how much a road trip will cost you. Probably not up to date on a daily basis, but it is a fun website to try out!

Here in South Florida we are at about $2.00/gal Am expecting it to go higher with OPEC cutback and typical rise as we get closer to Memorial Day

415 miles on my last tank of 15 gallons = 27.67 miles per gallon.

I keep the revs pretty low though.

I usually fill up when I'm just below a half tank. I haven't done any really long trips yet so most of my driving would fall into the around town category. I seem to be averaging 24-26 mpg. I'm extremely pleased with that.

Let me raise one more point. I notice that it changes from gas station to station. So I prefer Chevron 93 octane. I stay away from 7 eleven and older stations that could have old equipment.
