Default fog light bulbs

I'm going to order some of the fake HID fog light bulbs off the internet. I'm at work and was wondering if anyone can give me the correct size to order. I think I remember reading they are H3's. Is this correct?

I know this is an old post but...

You're saying an H3 is the same as a 9006? That doesn't sound right to me.

I'm not so sure of that... the plugs look totally different. I think H series bulbs and 9000 series bulbs are two different animals.

The fog bulbs are HB4 or 9006 - they are one and the same. Nowhere was H3 mentioned.

Check the first post in this thread dude, you clearly asked about an H3.

Following the flow in this thread one would assume an H3=9006=HB4=H4

I think you guys are confused.

Yes a 9006 is an HB4, but a 9006 is NOT a H4

9000 series bulbs and HB series bulbs are the same thing. However, H bulbs are not the same.

Typically 9000/HB bulbs have a plastic socket on them, whereas H bulbs have metal prongs with no plastic surrounding them.

With all due respect, I think YOUR the only one confused. If you had taken the time to fully read each post, the answer your seeking would have answered itself.

My first post said "I think I remember reading somewhere that it's an H3. Is this correct?" (obviously I was way off)

The answer was given in the subject line of the next post when Andrew said "It's an HB4". I think you missed reading the subject line.

Then I asked "Is an HB4 the same as a 9006" - the reply was yes. Thus the mystery was solved.

Since I understood this, I went out and bought myself some nice, xenon white fog light bulbs in size 9006.

The fog light bulbs are HB4 OR 9006 - END OF STORY.

Check out XenonDepot.com

With so many makes, models and trim levels of vehicles it is important that you check and make sure what type of bulb your particular vehicle needs. You can find the type of bulbs your specific vehicle uses in several locations. One place is the head light lens, the bulb type will be molded into it. Another place is on the bulb itself, the bulb type and wattage will be printed or molded into the base. The vehicle owner's manual may also tell you what type of bulb you need for your head lights and/or fog lights. Our Bulb application chart is not always correct so please be sure to double check with your dealer or owner's manual.

An H4 bulb is also referred to as a 9003 or an HB2.A 9004 bulb is also referenced to as an HB1. A 9005 bulb is also referred to as a HB3. A 9006 bulb is also referred to as a HB4. A 9007 bulb is also referred to as a HB5. H.I.D. bulbs are referred to as 9500, D2R, D2S. H1, H2, H3, & H7 bulbs are usually referenced as such.

Alright, my bad... I'm not used to the format of this forum with the subject line so small... I was only reading the body of the message and when he said "cheers" I took that as a "yes". But it did get confusing when he mixed up H4 and HB4, which are totally different bulbs.... now that we got that all cleared up, I'll get back to work.
