Default Hood Design Issues???

Just wondering if u guys have this same issue. When I had my crankshaft sensor go out I opened the hood and shut it and noticed I had a small dent in my hood. After inspecting it some more I noticed one of the caps on the passenger side (coolant, oil, etc) was rubbing against the hood liner where the dent was at. Has anyone had this problem. Looks like the cap sits way to high.

Not sure but one of my pet peeves are people letting the hood slam down from several feet in the air. This is not necessary and maybe it may have flexed that much during closing??????

I cant stand slamming my hood 5 feet in the air either. I just noticed the cap is not designed properly and its rubbing the hood liner.

never had an issue
and you dont have to slam it from its fully open position
get it about a 1ft from closing, lift up and let go real quick

or i close it and press it down the rest of the way.
no need for slamming.

No problems myself but the hood liner does sag a bit and rubs on the engine cover. The worst point of contact is the area just behind the Chrysler winged logo, it actually leaves a mark. Also the clips along the rear edge of the hood that hold the liner in place can touch the top of the engine cover if they are not bent close to the hood.
There is not much room under the hood, a 3/4" thick piece of wood on the battery will prevent the hood from closing.
If you have doubts about clearance, try a piece of wood and try to shut the hood gently.

Sounds like the radiator coolant bottle lid is too high bottle may not be down far enough (snapped into place with rubber grommet) maybe someone had it out at sometime and did not get it snapped back in,,,,but I have never heard of this problem either Strange Take some pictures and post so we can take a look I would like to see what is going on with your hood
