You can see a car ahead much earlier when it has a rear fog light switched on compared to one without.
There has been several fatalities in multi car pile ups on the Motorways when thick fog has been around.
So, its purpose is to make you visible to other motorists behind you.
Re: Crossfires in Europe
I think it started in Germany. When you are driving on the Autobahn when it,s raining, you can only see a wery little distance in front of you, couse of the heavy traffic. And there were
many accidens beacuse some ignored to take the speed down (idiots) With this taillight you can see a car in heavy fog or rain in a god distance. But i also hate this guys wo forget to switch it of in the night when it,s clear

Ill see what I can do about researching some lights for you. I'm sure I saw at least one just very recently when I was looking for some tints for mine, decided not a good idea in the end again due to the fact that idiots find it hard to drive here anyway let alone dimmed lights too.
[edit: Roadking beat me to it with a much simpler and precise response LOL SO DID BAZZER need to type faster!]

As for Mr **** Face Arrogant Clarkson I have never seen him like a car that costs less than a £100K and breaks down every 5 miles. He owns a Ford GT for godsake!! Not one to talk about **** (rubbish) unrealiable cars that are over expensive and uneconomical, oh and that looks worse than a Sh**ting dog!!

Over here in the UK we have imbociles who insist in hogging a lane when not even overtaking which makes driving at high speeds dangerous, hence our ridiculous 70mph speed limit on the Motorways. Remove the idiots from the roads and the competent drivers can cruise at 140mph quite safely. Speed does not kill, incompetence kills.
Slow drivers are more of a menace causing frustration in others and making them overtake. Im gonna say it as it wil come out sooner or later, Im a Personal Injury Lawyer here with my own practice. A lot of accidents we deal with are head ons from people overtaking slow cars at the worng time. Both parties are just as stupid obviously!
