I was lucky to get my '05 Ltd Roadster in April '08 for $17.5k with 17k miles on it. I think it was the best deal I ever got on a car - I still can't believe it's mine every time I look at it. After 2 years of ownership, I still get that warm fuzzy feeling every time I get in it, put the top down and take off! How can you possibly put a price on that?

Like any work of art, it's only worth what the buyer is willing to pay for it.

That said, the true cost of ownership of cars is realized when you go to sell. The difference between what you paid for it and what you sold it for becomes the true cost of ownership.

I paid $17,000 for my 2005 limited coupe with 40,000 miles on it in early 2008. Maybe not the best deal but I love my crossfire!!

I bought in '07 and got good deals on both of my cars. A buddy of mine just bought a used minivan for more than I paid for my Limited.

Since it is kinda hard to find replacement parts, do you think an A pillar from an SLK would fit an 06 xfire A pillar?

not sure what you mean by settling for a harsh ride if it were 100 bucks. Unless you're going to sell me YOUR SRT for 100, so thanks for the offer, and offer accepted.

All I meant to say is that while I think the SRT is a cool thing to have in a car, and yes it's fast, and of course faster than the NA, but the NA fits my needs and my driving habits probably better than the SRT would. I'm not into tracks, so what's the point? For me that is. Good ego boost in alot of ways I suppose, but kinda not into that either. More things to go wrong, but that by itself is not that much of an issue. harsher ride-could live with that. Probably increase the odds of a ticket, don't want to go there.

ALL vehicles serve different purposes, there is no one that does it all, if there was then I'd, and everyone else, own it. The MC I ride fits close to 95% of my needs, but it's not perfect. the Goldwing would fit the other 5% but miss basically 40% of what I do, and the Cross is like that too. For me.

I agree. As you know, I drive an NA and prefer it over my wife's SRT. For most of the same reasons you stipulated.

Now to explain the $100 bucks.
I've baited this hook a dozen times but I guess I can't fish very well.

One......more.....time.....!

Can you say raffle?

Come on, make the cork wiggle just a little.

Yeah, but he has a decent cupholder and a spare tire.

Ahhhh, now I get it, or could if there was a raffle AND my ticket was drawn , and IF an SRT was put in the raffle. LOL! yeah, I knew you had the NA vs your lovely bride's SRT, so at the time I was a bit confused about the 100 buck thing. All's well then. BTW, I have my Oyster Gold coupe in a place of honor, and so that folks see it right away!

OK I'll bite. $100 raffle ticket and an SRT-6 as the grand prize?
That sure beats the weekend for two in Niagara Falls the Scouts are offering around here for $10 a ticket. Three tickets for $20 if you promise to take your spouse.
My 2,000th post, note to self, gotta get a life.

Congrats on your 2,000th post.

and now ....drum roll ....Please!

Finally!

You are close enough for the cigar there 180.

There will be a raffle at the CAA. The Grand prize is a virtually unblemmished Aero Blue SRT, with 37K on the clock.

Chuck 466 was kind enough to let the GCG group buy it for the raffle.

Tickets will be limited to 350 and selling for $100.00 each.

Rules are still being fomulated by the attorney but, tickets wil go on sale March 22, 2010. Proceeds benefit the St Louis Children's Hospital Benefit.

Onehundred80 gets a cigar and a bottle of cellar aged blinker fluid. Well OK not cellar aged, in my garage aged.

Stay tuned for details.

So MDanielsS4, you could. theoreticaly, decide to endure the harse ride of the SRT for $100.00. And never pick up Koni shock or a wrench.

I'm bumping because of the Forum reset.

How come it goes three pages overnite and then resets frequently all day?

And don't tell me it's the 15 minute lapse between posts. it ain't!

those who bought new in '04 and '05 paid a stiff price in depreciation. As much as 50% in the first years.
But the downward spiral has leveled off and soon, unless one sold their Crossie in a panic, the value will be what it would have been anyway.

Just saying.....
So if you did buy one right, drive 'em like you stole them, 'cause you did.

And if you didn't steal one, well lucky you, as you have many more years of permagrin on you face than those skinflints who suffered as they waited for the deal. And as of now, you landed in the same place anyway. Sorta

Franc, I am of a similar opinion, that I bought my Roadster used (A steal)with 23,000 miles on the clock, and it was bought for MY pleasure. I don't care how much it is worth now, in 1 year, OR 5 years. I will get my pleasure out of it and to hell with the cost. EVEN if I have to give it away when I have finished with it. BUT, I only use it at weekends, and it will take me many pleasurable hours, to get fed-up of it. GO CROSSFIRES>>>>>TERRYR
