Default Selling a car and body work

I want to get a few opinions on some damage I have on my car that I plan to sell in 6 to 12 months.

The car has a dent on the door where someone knocked off my mirror and it hit the door, pretty small but there

I also cracked the lower bumper
not destroyed but cracked.

So my question is do I fix it before I sell it?

Yes its a 2005 Limited in Gray.

Trying to decide if fixing it makes sense both from a cost and sales perspective.

Most likely your car will sell much faster and more $ if it's fixed. Do you have a cost for the repair?

Post some photos of the damage.

I would think that if you look at the cost to fix it compared to what the estimated blue book value is of the car in both conditions, you'd have a pretty good idea if you should fix it or not.

As to sales perspective, I presume you mean the buyer's perspective as that really is the perspective that matters most. Were I looking at a car that had damage such as a dent you mention, I'd be able to ignore that for the most part. However considering the bumper, I'd have a buyer's beware thought running through my mind no matter what you told me.

Based on that, you could always try to sell it w/o fixing it but offer to take off the cost to fix the bumper, call it an appearance adjustment; just have the estimate handy to show the buyer.

All this changes when dealing with a dealer as they will always try to get the rock bottom for a car.

have it fixed! it will be much easier to sell. it may even be cheaper then you expect. if the damage to the door didnt break the paint finish it can be fixed by a PDR specialist. and the bumper repair and repaint should be around $300. both the repairs can be handled by a reputable collision repair facility.

I know if you go through insurance—a Limited mirror cost about 500 smackers. Someone wacked mine a couple years ago and spun it around. You can't fix'em you have to buy a new one, and they only come primed. Get bids and balance the numbers. Good luck.
