He may not be able to sell it for that price. It today's market he probably shouldn't have let you go. But that all depends on his situation.

Just hang in there. There are plenty of great cars out there for a great price. Just be patient. I think your offer was fair since it is a 2004. Low miles mean nothing other than the car wasn't driven often and could have some potential problems as a result. I am always suspicious of a car with way too low miles.

I highly doubt he will be able to sell it for that much. I am sure you will find something with lower miles for 12k. Keep looking and good luck!

Keep looking.

Here's a SRT-6 listed on ebay for around 13,850 (buy it now price) ....

Chrysler : Crossfire:eBay Motors (item 140373664627 end time Jan-18-10 14:47:30 PST)

I think the guy with the '04 you made the offer to just screwed up.

I have to disagree somewhat. I've had several 'low miles' vehicles and can't think of a problem because of it. Granted, the vehicle shouldn't sit for years.

That car is up here in MN. I've looked at it and it looks good, not great. Better than the SRT6 Roadster they are selling as well though. probably would be a great buy though if you went through if you took the time to clean it up real nice and give it a good once over.

It could be that he's still "upside down" in it.

I still owe over 10K on my 2004 with 40K miles on it (got it as a lease return a few years ago from a Chrysler dealer as a 'certified' car, big warranty stuff).

Maybe I paid too much or bought too soon, but we've enjoyed the heck out of it, so I ain't complaining. I've gotten far less joy out of way worse deals...

We bought too soon but we had no clue. Seems like about 6 months after we bought ours (06' bought new in 07') the market on them dropped and we lost our rear ends.

We'll have this car for a long time... hopefully long enough for the collector value to go out the roof... like I'd sell it anyway... I love this car.

My '04 has been on the road since October '05, just a few hundred miles that year, and has a little less than 15,000 miles on it now, no winters, garage kept and babied. I'll take one of these over your daily driver anytime. Mind you a car that has sat idle and ignored for a few years will have its problems but fixable ones as long as rust and corrosion have not gone through it. It all depends how it was stored.

I hear you. Sitting for long periods of time is not good. That is what I was talking about. I see some cars that are 10 years old and have less than 1K miles on them. Very dangerous!

+1 I agree with this post. when a car sits for a long period of time without proper care, it will start leaking from everywhere. Just because it has 1k miles doesnt mean you will have a brand new car. I knew somebody who bought an older vette with 1200~ miles on it, the owner was an older gentleman who kept it in his barn for years with a car cover, she started to leak from the front of the engine, transmission and if i remember correctly from valve covers as well.

There was an 06 roadster limited with a stick (in yellow) in Grand Rapids MI a few weeks ago for $14k, about that mileage. That's high for an '04 coupe.

We all love this car but want to buy it for nothing. Until that stops the value will never go up. I would not part with my 04 Coupe with 21k for less than 14K and that's why it's not for sale. I wouldn't part with the 07 Roadster with 12k for less than 21K, again not for sale. If you love the car and have the money, buy it, drive it, love it and don't look back.

I totally agree. I think that we are our own worst enemy.

I do not think anyone could be more meticulous than I am, when checking a used car. When I bought my 05 limited coupe in August, last year, I too, was sceptical of the very low milage on the car,(6,800).
I went over that car from front, rear, inside, under, you name it, could not find anything that took away from the (SHOWROOM) apearance of it.
I am sure I paid too much for it, $16,000, but I could not afford the $30,000 they wanted for a new 300, so I took a chance on this (NEW) used car. I admit I have not owned it long enough to endure any problems, and I hope I do not have too many, but all I can say is--this Crossfire is the absolute best used car, I have ever had, and I love the way it handles and the power it has.

Not sorry, in Michigan

I really don't think you missed too much by not getting that 04 Rob. Mine was an 06 with 10,300 that I paid 14,500 for, and it was in perfect shape. hang in there and you'll find a good car at a great price. The seller made a mistake in my opinion.

I know I will find the perfect Crossfire.
I'm not afraid of the 14k, I'm afraid to pay to much for what others are selling for. Seems like I could pay 11-12000 for a nice 2004 or 2005 with under 40k miles. Am I unreasonable?
