Re: Stolen Crossfires
Our police officers would know better than I, but here are reasons why most cars are probably stolen and why stealing a crossfire wouldn't be in the thief's best interest:
Reason: 1) Stolen for the parts
Since not many Crossfires were made, I don't think this would be a lucrative business for a chop shop.
Reason 2) To use in a crime
Our Crossfires stand out, so I don't think it would be the best vehicle to use
Reason 3) Go for a joy ride
Once again, our cars stand out. Bad move...
Reason 4) The thief is an idiot
This is the only logical reason why someone would steal a Crossfire

A Doberman in the front seat when I travel and 2 others at home to make for a very pleasant sleep. You have to be pretty high to enter the house and to take on three Dobes but if you do that is your problem. I am sure I can get to my gun in the nightstand while you are being sidetracked by the dogs. Nobody has bothered my cars or house in over 40 years.

I HATE thieves.......
yeah well it's not even that easy.... your dog takes a chunk out of the affore-mentioned scumbag guess who's liable? Yup you got it - you are!! Tell you it's getting so bad across here I'm surprised that we're not being arrested for putting locks on doors thereby depriving crims of their 'human rights' to conduct their business. Thanks Labour

Co worker said her sister in Calf bought a Limited roadster which was stolen in her driveway. Keys were in ignition (Duuuh). The cops found it about a month later with brand new wheels and tires and new stereo . The guy that stole it at least bought those and took care of it! ! Sounds like I need mine stolen for a few weeks..Ha

Dumbest load of bull if you ask me. If someone breaks in to your house, you should be entitled to at least shoot to immobilize. Who the hell knows if they have a weapon or not? Who knows it's not someone breaking in to just kill you? Most do have weapons and most are more than willing to use them.
As for stealing a Crossfire, I once asked a self-proclaimed car thief if he would steal one. Said there's no reason to. It's not impossible, but the car is highly useless to chop shops, parts aren't in high demand, and it's just too much time and effort for something that probably is just going to get him caught. Said he rather steal a Civic.
How's that for reassurance?

A car can be a deadly weapon just like a gun. Buy a fast car like a Crossfire and 99% of them will break the law! They will break the speed limit and drive reckless with the potential to kill someone. Only a few people that legally buy a gun will use it to break the law. Hopefully anti-gun supporters can use this analogy to understand that legally purchased guns are less dangerous than fast cars.
Banning handguns is the worst thing you can do for people... the best thing you can do for a criminal. The government will remove all weapons then how can you defend yourself? Sound familiar? Hitler/Germany/Stormtroopers/WW2????
