Thanks for the wishes everyone, it has truly been a trying 2 weeks, and....

THE SPOILER CAME BACK UP, THE SWITCH IS BLINKING, AND ABS + BAS/ESP ARE LIT AGAIN

They took a 42" LCD TV, a 47" LCD TV, Ipods, sunglasses, some tools, and other random stuff (including a smoke detector they stole from the wall, explain that LOL). The only plus is that the garage is unattached and I have a different lockset on it, they were not able to get into the garage, so they were not able to steal/bother my broken XF LOL

It has been over freezing here during the day everyday and this thing has not solved itself, I am sure hoping it does when it gets above 45 degress.

Odd for a problem like this to not have been experienced by many members, maybe there are not a whole lot of us that drive them in the snow

THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE, if anyone tries to sell you an LCD TV from Indy reeeeally cheap..... shoot them for me, will ya??

Doc, you forget, no CPD at 51st and Ralston. IPD is handling it and they have been great, but there are no leads and around 30 other breakins in the area over the last month or two that are almost identicle as mine. I have no doubt that the criminals will walk free, and even if they do get caught, probably do 30 days max and then are back kicking in my door in a month again, great system.....

If I need something I will shout, I appreciate the support Doc. Molly wants me to tell you hello

After 2 days of temperatures near 60 degrees I still have exactly the same symptoms.

If there is anyone out there who can shed any light on what this may be, I would certainly appreciate the help.

Thanks!

Which reset are you referring?? I have left the negative battery terminal off for 20+ minutes, I am assuming this should have reset everything

I feel like a total d-bag driving around and parking with that spoiler up

Thanks for the quick reply, it seems I am the only one who the quick fixes will not work for

** Update**

I have not done anything with the car except operate it as usual. The BAS/ESP and ABS lights are still on at the dash and spoiler still in deployed position.

Yesterday, I am driving around and all of a sudden I hear a sound I have not heard in months, the spoiler motor. Out of nowhere the lights on the dash go out and the spoiler retracts while I am going approx 30 down the street. I continue to drive the car normally and spoiler stays down/lights off. I go into the store and when I come back out, spoiler up again. (I had no idea it would raise with the car off)

The fact that this happened makes me worry. Does anyone know for sure that the ABS + BAS/ESP modules store error codes?? I am considering paying the $100 for the stealership to pull the code, but worry that may not lead me anywhere except having $100 less in my pocket.

If anyone has any more suggestions, I am more than willing to entertain aything plausible at this point in time. I need to put this spoiler down!

Do I remember a thread where a car had all sorts of problems like this and he had water in the trunk well where the locking system pump sits.
The air/vacuum pump was in water and shorted things out. I think the locks still worked.
The well is on the passenger side and you can see the bottom of the well between the foam tray and the trunk wall, on mine you can anyway.
This guy promised photos but never bothered when he fixed the problems.

Got to love that, a thread started and the troubleshooting done, then no resolution is ever posted, makes these more fun to diagnose

I have no water in the car, and the damn thing teased me again, going down for 10 mins and coming right back up

I prodded for pics and they were posted, interesting but no help for you though. Is this a speed sensor problem? I'll think about it and look at the wiring diagrams.

Thanks again 180. I think it is indeed a wheel speed sensor, but the fact that it is slightly intermittent, makes me wonder. Do you know exactly where the speed sensors are located in this particular car??

I would like to remove, clean, and reinstall them to see what is going, but I do not know exactly where to start.

** Update 8/30/2010 **

I was able to get a hold of a OBDIII system recently and was then able to easily find out it was indeed the right front wheel speed sensor.

I went to the local autozone who had one in stock for $70, the best I could find it for online was roughly $50 + shipping and I wanted that damn spoiler down, so I paid.

Easy install and 10 minutes later, no spoiler up unless we are over 62MPH LOL.....
