jharrod,

I grew up out at Andrews AFB my last 6 years before I left home. Does that count... ;-) Just kidding.

I'll tell you what we can do tho... you run up to Philly, grab a couple of large cheesesteaks and I'll meet you in Oklahoma City!!! That way we both get to take a nice ride in our Xfire and have a great sandwich to boot!!!

Default DC area

Given that you're in Colorado, and looking for folks in the DC area...gotta ask...are you talking Denver, Colorado or District of Columbia?

If Wash., DC, I'm about 15 miles east in the Annapolis, MD. area. There's someone on this board a bit further east on Kent Island, but I think she works in DC. RMWright on this board lives in Alexandria or thereabouts, I think. I believe there are a few other cars around.

Hi there. I'm from the DC area. I recently moved to Huntsville, AL where I reside now full time, but I frequently drive back to the area to visit family and for business. So keep me updated on the happenings and if I'm in town I'd love to drive by!

Definitely. I've only been to Birmingham twice since moving down here. I'd love to cruise down one weekend and get to know the area a little better.

I've also only seen one other x-fire here in Huntsville. Although, my dealer says they are flying from the lot - they must not be driving them!

Rwright2
the study is 2 parts:
1. creative workbook that involves taking some photographs (with a camera we provide), cutting out magazine advertisements that appeal to you and perhaps making a collage.
2. we would meet with you in-person for about 2 hours to discuss cars and why you chose the crossfire.
there is a $150 stipend for the creative work and a $200 stipend for the interview.
are you still interested?

Still looking for volunteers? I will be moving to the DC area in late March/early April.

Any plans for owners to get together in the spring? Road trip to wineries around Charlottesville area perhaps?

Default DC area

It seems like there are more owners popping up in the area all the time. I'm near Annapolis, about 20 miles east of DC. Although still a relatively rare site, between the Baltimore/Washington/Northern Va corridor I spend some time on I now see one or two Crossfires on the road weekly.

Then again, might be the same one or two, I dunno.

If it could be coordinated, there are enough folks who've posted here to pull together a half dozen cars or so. Charlottesville is a good idea. So would be heading the other way, east over the Chesapeake Bay to Maryland's Eastern Shore. Lots of great back roads, St. Michaels and Oxford are wonderful historic towns on the Miles River. Did a 2 day cruise w/about 150 cars a few years back w/the Northern Virginia Jaguar Owners to that area.

Keep going down the shore to Ocean City, MD. The weekend before Memorial Day there's a HUGE vintage car show, mostly hot rods but lots of well restored American iron as well, in OC. Runs Thurs through Sunday, there are usually 4500 cars in 3 locations, the best/biggest at the inlet lot on the beach right at the beginning of the boardwalk. They can get about 3000 on that lot.

The promoters do two of these shows annually, the one in May is limited to 1974 and earlier cars, so the Xfire can't get on the show lots. Still, the whole weekend is about cruising and there are dozens of smaller 'unofficial' car shows going, and in town it's not problem seeing plenty of modern Vettes, Vipers, Prowlers, PT Cruisers, etc. Folks considering checking this one out should probably start booking hotel now.

The fall show, first weekend in October, is one that folks in the Delmarva/Balt/Wash. area should consider. A bit smaller....2500 to 3000 cars, but it's open to any year car. Had mine there last year, and the OC Police Dept. picked it as their Best in Show. The trophy has long since been misplaced, but I'd rather had a free pass on a future speeding ticket within town limits...

Obviously a way off, but that would be a good one to get organized for in terms of a Crossfire presence. Last year, the 300M club had about a dozen cars, the PT Cruiser Club had over 30. 3 Prowlers, a couple Vipers.

Hi Lynn. I live out Manassas way and work in Sterling. I still see NONE around these parts.

Go have a look in the "Meets" section for our cruise last Sunday of some area owners (Virginia Skyline Drive). Also check the thread on the Carlisle trip coming up on July 10.

I'm thinking Crossfire is getting popular enough that we should formulate a ICFC group (International CrossFire Clubs, Vegas Crossfire first international president :!: 8) :!: ). And then an NCCFC (National Capitol CrossFire Club). And more CFC's to spring up quickly around the globe!

You just have to set the appropriate level of dues on the individual chapters to the international "governing body" (which is why I proposed you  ).
