Incidentally, I had a wierd occurrance yesterday. Pulled into Hugh's Tower (one of very few high-rise office buildings in Vegas), and while looking for a parking space the first one I found empty was between two Crossfires (Red coupe and Black coupe). Put my Machine Grey coupe between them. Odd sight as generally I only see another Crossfire on the roads here about three times a week.
Wow, you trusted what dealers said, I do not have a law degree and I don't trust one word they say.

It was stated by dealers trying to sell me a car, and was thusly negative information for them. It was stated above the salesman level. At this point I believe that they even believed it. Additionally, one of the dealers was a client as well.

I don't know about Kaiser Fraiser but I can tell you this was done with the Boss 429 Mustang in 1970. They were re- VIN'd '69's

I'll have to remind my son that he is damn lucky to have a Crossfire, let along a rare machine gray. I also had a lead on a 07 silver roadster that a Chrysler sales exec was selling (met him at the Woodward Cruise two summers ago), but my son did not want a ragtop and I let it slip by. Btw, my next door neighbor's new wife has an oyster roadster making 4 Crossfires on our street. Probably the highest per capita population of XFs on a residential street being that there are only 13 houses. PS - When I was shopping for XFs back in the fall of 2004, it seemed every west MI dealer had a yellow roadster on the floor. I saw at least 4 of them and the color did nothing for me.

But didn't 1969 have the double headlights, and the 1970 single?

I think you may have the Boss 429's mixed up with the Shelby Mustangs.
Left over 69 Shelby's were sold as 70's.

probably because of all the cars they dumped on the executive/retiree lease program. i know of two retirees (my dad and his friend) who got two cars each out of the program. okay, they weren't in Detroit, but close enough.

You can find the date of manufacture on the plate inside the door. Since the 1980's, a VIN no longer indicates color.

Go to the first post of the thread below, to figure out your date of manufacture (Most likely between 12/4 to 12/10/2003) . Color is Graphite if it is the car in your avatar.
