The back looks like a dog doing a s**t I have to agree. It's kind of annoying. Though no one ever makes this connection unless you tell them
The manuals 1st gear jumps out This problem in auto is really annoying. Minus the interior, the transmission would be my first thing to swap out.
Makes smooth roads bumpy This happens when you're used to driving Bentleys and Ferraris everywhere.
Steering wheels too large Have to agree too.
No feel in the steering As the bumpiness, this happens when you're used to driving supercars all day.
Auto even worse See the one about 1st gear.
Cheap interior God I hate how cheap the interior is. It's so obvious cheapo Chrysler had a big hand in making it.
Thirsty Not quite sure what he means?
No boot space I don't think you should be worried about trunk space when buying a car like this.
Too expensive buy an RX-8 This comment is now null and void.
On a side note, if this car were still $40k, these comments would be pretty important. Now that you can get the car for under $15k, these remarks probably wouldn't wiegh too heavily on your purchase decision.

Re: TOPGEAR HATES US
I don't need or want any bullshit publisher telling me about a car. I have the intelligence and skills to determine what I need to know after experiencing the vehicle. I inspected and drove the Crossfire Roadster. I bought it. It's red, the top comes down and it has a manual gearbox. Power and handling exceed my needs. That is my bottom line. Gary

Nothing written by Clarkson is particularly surprising. The crossfire, overall, is a compromised design. In order to really pull off both the looks and design, the car should have been built from scratch--similar to the viper. The problem is that chrysler had nothing that really lent itself to a premium performance car at the time. Benz was the clear choice, but with their lack of attention to real performance outside of the AMG cars, the vehicle was doomed. I think Benz did the best they could with what they had, but the focus never really dealt with the feel and performance of the car. As a result, it's a great highway cruiser and fairly practical for a two seater. Maintenance requirements for the car are fairly basic as well. All of these are great for the daily driven sports car. What chrysler-benz did a poor job of was giving the car the special feel that it deserved. It's like the difference between say buying a honda civic and adding parts to give it performance similar to an M3 vs just buying the M3. Benz/Chrysler basically tried to throw on some parts to give the car that extra sporty feel missing in the R170. That didn't go over all so well for some people--clearly!
I think for many journalists, it was clear that dynamics clearly betrayed the beautiful lines of the Crossfire. The other cars that competed with the the crossfire were much more focused on the performance. The crossfire had to deal with scraps when it should have been made into a mini-vette. I may not want an RX-8, but the Z4 coupe is much more fun and sporting to drive than the crossfire. I like the crossfire, primarily because of its faults and it's relative level of practicality, but when it comes to being a sports car, it's just not as good a sports car as it's competitors.

I do dislike to arm rest on the door, but I can't think of how they would've done it differently and made it more comfortable.
