Hal, I had an accident in mine 2 years ago, the insurance company made me take to a Mercedes dealer for the repairs. Benson Mercedes in San Antonio did the work, I highly recommend them. You've seen my car, could you tell I ever wrecked it?

Reconditioned but you can maybe work out a deal and its near Dallas.

Chrysler Crossfire Bumper (OEM) Front 2004-2008:eBay Motors (item 300360127730 end time Oct-26-09 11:09:12 PDT)

You said it had horns? That figures. You never see a buck when hunting.

Anyway, hope you get the car fixed soon.

Yep definitely had horns ! I hit him hard enough to bow him over across the hood and his antlers made an imprint in the hood !
The insurance adjuster finally called yesterday afternoon, coming out today to take pictures and work up an estimate. Paul W supplied me with all the Chrysler and Benz part numbers and prices soooooo, they even attempt to jerk me around on the price, I have backup ! Thanks Paul ... owe ya a beer or two my friend !
Excellant price on that bumper...too bad it's not an SRT bumper !

That totally sucks, Stogey. Hope you are back on the XF Highway real soon! We have the deer problem here in central Virginia also. I passed 2 of them by the side of the road the other night. Luckily, they stayed put, I was in my Miata, and my XF was under the cover asleep in my garage.....

Well I tagged myself one of the four legged horned variety critters on the way to work yesterday and will soon be looking for replacement parts. Any help will be much appreciated. Looking for a front bumper (preferrabley of the SRT variety), hood, left front qtr. panel, left side headlight assy. and grille. Anyone have this stuff layin around at a good price, let me know !

Stogey
I have a spare passenger side that I removed because the high\low beams didn't align ( the adjustment gearing is off) but thats not what you want is it? Otherwise its not bad. I suppose that it could be repaired.

Finally got the estimates back from the appraisers and it's gonna cost my insurance company 5400 bucks to get " Rosey " back in prime shape. The only hitch being as some parts like the bumper are on back order which we already knew about.
In the meantime gonna at least try to get the headlights pointed in more of a up the road, rather than down at the pavement fashion !

Sorry to hear about the deer whacking, Stogey !

I'm assuming that from your description that you hit the deer as opposed to it hitting you? Was it on a full run or did it just leap its suicidal **** in front of you?

Like I've mentioned before, they infest this area of the state & for the next month or 2 I drive like a paranoid old woman behind the wheel of a Buick.

Good luck & hope things get fixed soon!!!!!

I don't know why they don't allow deer hunting in Texas year round....the critters are everywhere !

Yeah Kurts I plowed into the horny (edited) ...narrow two lane country road, grown vegatation on either side of the road, he just kinda trotted out in front of the car. I was actually running the speed limit and for those that know me will find that hard to believe. If it weren't for the anti-lock brakes on our cars the sucker would have probably ended up in my lap ! But I got slowed down enough to where it didn't flip over the hood. Hell, the air bags didn't even pop, which amazed me !

I've got plenty of pics, I'll post this afternoon

Actually there is deer hunting all year round in Texas. Only on specific deer and I think they are called Axis deer (I think they have the white spots). They are a pain in the neck and too many of them. Not considered native to Texas so they are the only deer you can hunt all year round. The others are only during hunting season.

I saw tons of them this morning. This is the time of year to watch out!

Sorry to hear your bad luck but this time of year I tend to leave the Xfire in the garage and use the Ford unless it is the middle of the day no early mornings or late nights I have hit way too many deer in my lifetime being 51 and from the NE Oh area and NW PA too many of the PITA's around.
Again sorry for your luck

Hey Stogey, get your self up here and Im sure we can bag a Moose or an Elk , failing that we could chase some Canadian "beaver"
I hit an Elk in southern British Columbia, back in 85 I was driving a 1 ton F350 ford flat bed,it just bounced off the hill onto the hood and vanished. It punched a hole in the radiator that I couldnt plug, ( minus 35 c) I drove 400 miles back to Edmonton and used 35 galons of water to keep the motor cool . When I got back to the shop it took 2 days to defrost the hood and firewall, $3500 for repairs and I still have a small collecton of hollow Elk hairs. The town where I hit the Elk, in the Ford is called
-------------------------------Elkford ----------------------------------Just north of Fernie
