Default Mercedes grill.

Some of the mercedes grills on ebay with the big *** 3 point star in them look like they would fit if anybody wants to try.

I have looked into this and don't believe any grille will just fit. I also wouldn't want one with the big star. I thiink if you can find a nice MB grille without the star that is a little bigger than our grille it could be modified t work. Here is one I have seen before that might be able to be modified to work:

Mercedes Brabss Radiator Grille W163 ML320 ML430 ML55:eBay Motors (item 280405244051 end time Oct-10-09 17:19:16 PDT)

Here is another that would look good if you can remove the bars from the bhrome surround

There was a thread about this when I first joined the forum. Someone measured the grill and found it wouldn't fit in the opening for the xfire grill.

I have a source for MB grilles. I tried to test fit a number of them. The grille openings while similar are actually quite different.

I agree that no MB grille will fit, But I do look at this from time to time hoping to find one that is larger than the opening so that I can modify it. Or we could try to get someone reputable to produce something. Here is a Maybach style grille that is aftermarket and made to fit an S Class. I wonder what this would look like on a Crossfire?

I think many of us have been on the quest for the ultimate grill that emulates the Mercedes SLK grill. Here's a photo of FP's grill with chrome overlays over the OEM grill. I have these on mine too but don't have a photo of it.

This provides a look that's very close to the Mercedes grills Lantana proposed IMHO. And, it cost a lot less $ too.

I have an OEM Maybach grille if you want one to cut up and test out. It's $5,200 retail............but I'd let it go for $3,000. Let me know when you want to paypal the funds.

The Mabach grille pics I posted aren't Maybach grilles but are aftermarket grilles for the S Class Mercedes which might explain why it is only $137.00 But if they can retail that thing for $137 we need to find the manufacturer and convince them that ever since our grilles started showing up on mini vans there is now a real market for a different Crossfire grille. Another possible option is Brabus sells an OEM type grille but with no STAR for the current M Class. that Grille may be able to be cut down to fit.

Definitely different, however you need to allow for the latching mechanism behind the front emblem. I tried something similar long ago and almost "permanently" sealed the hood.

Nice Photo Shop job. Looks like it fits! We should try to convince the manufacturer to make something for the Crossfire.

That's interesting Mike, I suddenly got the urge to throw another shrimp on the barbie.

Actually, it makes me think "Mercury".
