Default 2004 XFire

As a long time BMW owner I am thinking of purchasing the 2004 CrossFire for a change. I was plesantly surprised with my test drive although it did appear to be somewhat underpowered but that is not a determining factor in the purchase. I have moved from a *I will think about purchaser to a serious considering* person. Could someone please let me know if there are any major pitfalls or problems with the 2004. Thanks in advance.

I've had mine for just over a month and the only compaint I have is the radio display is hard to see in daylight.

I'm getting just under 24 mpg with a mix of in town and interstate driving. And that's pretty good since I still like to wind up 1st gear and listen to the exhaust talk...

It's an awesome car!!!

If you get a Manual (and who wouldn't?), watch 1st gear. Half dozen or so (just from this forum) have a problem dropping to Neutral out of First (generally right in the middle of traffic with a semi comming at you). Mine surfaced right around 11 to 1200 miles. But is probably a very small percentage have the problem over all. And, Chrysler is working to fix them, as long as you get the dealer to respond. Hasn't hurt my feelings about the car too much, I'll just be paranoid at starts for the next 10,000 miles or so.

She's in the shop now for a new Tranny.

One real knock is the radio display, and thats pretty minor. My knees bump the steering wheel when I get in or out. On a four-lane road, drivers will get in your blind spot and stay there for a mile or two, checking you out. There are plenty of other sqwaks on the forum, but all in all it a very enjoyable car.

A little short on headroom for those over 6'1" Otherwise it seems to be a very stable plateform.
