So I'm driving back home from a nice day out with the girlfriend when I'm approached by Mustang Guy. He pulls up next to me at the light and is staring at my two ladies. He revs his car a few times and then gives me the nod that he's ready to go. The conditions are perfect, open three lane road, only us two on the road, no entrances for other cars to pull out, and a good half a mile or so before the next light. So I'm very tempted but I never race with someone in the car because I won't put them in danger plus my girl, who knows more about cars then most men, reminds me that I have a stock v6 and he has a v8 and possibly some mods from the sound of things. The light turns green and I just take off like normal. He pulls out in front and keeps an eye on me in the driver side mirror and continues to rev his car. I'm laughing because my girl is making fun of his ugly green mustang and his spoiler that is taller than his roof. You know one of those ricer things. We go through the next light and come up on a group of cars. I change lanes from middle to left and give it a little gas to pass them. He then makes a mad dash from the right lane across two lanes to the left and almost hits two cars in the process. Pulls up next to me at the next light and starts the whole process again but now his friend in the passenger seat has something to add. I bite my lip and tell them not today but in the back of my mind was thinking only if I had an SRT.

Today I'm on the way to work when up comes Corvette Guy. My favorite middle aged man in his convertible. His comb over is flapping in the wind sending a nice glare off his head, sun glasses to match the color of his car, and a women about half his age that's with him for all the right rea$on$. He's giving it a little gas and looking my way. Are you kidding me? There is no way in hell I can out run that car. So I slow down a little and so does he, I speed up a little and he does the same, I switch lanes and he does the same. After a couple of minutes he punches it and is gone.

I'm sure some of you have had similar experiences. So my question to you is who is worse? Mustang Guy or Corvette Guy.

P.S. If you have any good kill stories with either of these type of guys I would love to hear them.

Those guys are both kinda funny.

 

I can repeat that same story with 20 different types of cars but mine has a little different ending. So start with your story but change the ending to my little SRT6 handing them their A$$ at the end of the “exhibition of acceleration”. It always is so funny to see the shocked look on their faces when I “let them” catch up with me.

 

They are both retards... especially the corvette guy. No need for him to prove anything... we already know about how fast his car is.

I had the same story happen to me... but it was an SRT. Why would a guy in an SRT have to show me how much faster his car is. Anyone that owns a Crossfire knows not to mess with an SRT.

 

Great Story! I had a slow Acura Integra pulling up behind me pretty quickly yesterday and began riding my butt. Couldn't do anything because of cars in front and beside me. He wound up turning at a light. Too many weird folks out there thinking their cars are fast with about 160 hp.

 

I say the Mustang guy is the retard....and this is coming from someone that owns a Mustang His wing being taller than the roof!!!**facepalm** damn kids. I get no taunts only "fly-bys" after I get held up by traffic and their lane is clear. I must admit I did taunt a C6 a couple weeks ago.....but for good reasons. Guy was the classic nose to the air (I own a Vette type)oooooookkkk with your chrome Corvette insert lettering. I think having the lettering actually made me more mad than the snubbing.

I had a C5 Z06 come up on me at a light... and thought he was hot sh*t. Started revving at the light, I just looked over and looked back and left the light at normal pace. Then he paced me and was doing his whole machismo thing for his girlfriend/mistress...so then i took off...needless to say he wasn't catching me until I let off...

Funny thing is: depending on what year Mustang he had ('04 & earlier) you would've probably kept side by side with him with your "little V6".
Unless he had modded it somehow.........
The V8 'Stangs pre-05 (or '06, can't remember exactly) aren't all that speedy. An SRT would've handed him his as_ on a platter.
I've run against 2 Mustang GT's in my Alabaster White over the years, both '04's, & they were just about the most even races one could imagine. Absolutely side by side, not one budging aganst the other. Both drivers appeared shell-shocked; one of the guys was very cool & I still see him occasionally when heading home. We stopped aong the highway once last year & chatted briefly about cars. He now knows all about Crossfire's & won't mess with the SRT.

 

We talk to a huge number of car guys, both on the phone and at car shows, and there is a particular vehicle who's owners are, by and large, complete tools. Not all of them, obviously, as I personally know a few guys who own this particular car, but a higher percentage than normal are of the belief that their car is truly something special and unique in all the world, that they deserve special attention, and they are somehow better than the rest of us.

I won't mention the specific car, but you could ask ANYONE here at work "who's the nuttiest/wackiest/least rational group out there and, without hesitation, EVERYONE would give the same answer.

 

Any new factory 05 newer Corvette and also the Z06 Corvette will destroy
a factory SRT crossfire.. I love the crossfire and the corvette .. Crossfire is a gem though! a rarer car! But its not a high performance beast!

 

Add most 97-04 'vettes to that list. Same power, 100 lbs lighter. I guess they wouldn't destroy the SRT-6, but we'd have our work cut out for us.

And pre-05 mustangs are slooooow.... They supposedly make 260 hp, but the stock ones always seem so slow.

 

I have one up on most of you...when I am not in the mood to play, which is when I see an idiot with someone else in the car, especially his kids....I just look him in the eye, and produce my shiney gold STAR. Funs over.....the look on their face is priceless....

 

I might add something to the Z06 storey...having owned an '03...with just the mods I have now, I can pull away from my old Vette...my buddy who bought my old car is pretty good with it...it's now his baby. He couldn't believe my little roadster could stay with his car, let alone leave him from the start like I do...he can catch me toward the end of 1/4, but the race is on by then...and we run out of room to play since we are now in the 130+ range, all within a mile....so, depends on driver and mods...I would agree a stock SRT might not stay with the newer Z's with Hp they now have, but I wouldn't run from one...

 

Twice I've had young kids pull up next to me at a stop light in older cars that the have obviously been modified. They are very proud and sure of their "ride". After much reving the engine, glancing my way and meaningful nodding, the light turns green. And off they go...about 2 feet, when they stall the car!
As I pass at normal speed, I am seriously laughing out loud, which I'm sure didn't make their day any better.

 

I have a good one, didn't happen in my xf, but still funny. I was riding with my girl one night in her 07 VW Rabbit, 2 dr, 2.5L, six speed tiptronic. we pull up at a stoplight on a six lane. we're in the inside lane, no one in the middle, and an rx8 in the outer lane. he looks over, guess he was thinking it was a gti, and when the light goes green stomps it. My girl stomps it too and actually stayed beside him until we turned off. if we had kept going she would have passed him. the look on his face was priceless.

 

I had a guy in an 88 vette run me in my stang.....I am just cruising enjoying a nice sunday drive with my girl and he goes by revving. So I just shake my head like??????? He whips it around in the middle of an intersection....as if he was looking to drag race this day.(must had gotten a new mods)He catches up we get light.....I must admit this thing was a f@#$@ beast!! LOL My stang wasnt built yet but not a slouch either.....but it was as if he left me standing still. Anyway I pull over and talk to guy(cool guy after all the taunting) with his wife.....low and behold his little son(6yrs atmost) is riding shotgun in the back hatch area. IDIOT MOVE!
