49 New xFires
49 New xFires
The now defunct Jim Archer Chrysler dealer has 49 new xFires still in stock. Average price marked on window is about 30K to 34K. This dealer had I think 53 cars about 1 year ago (I made a post back then). This might be the biggest collection of new xFires that are left?
His location is Hwy 290 in northwest Houston, Tx.
I took these pics yesterday evening.
Enjoy,
George

Re: 49 New xFires
I wanna go do donuts in their parking lot in my SRT6 then leave...
they bought up all the crossfires they could get their hands on... they wanted to be the "#1 crossfire dealer" in america... boy did that backfire.
the #1 crossfire dealer in texas was always deerbrook forest chrysler jeep... they were #1 for all 4 years of "production"

Re: 49 New xFires
I was told when they closed our dealership that if they were not a Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep dealership they were on the list for closure. Looking at that sign, it appears they only sold Chryslers. The awarding of the dealership up here went to some one who would sell all three and build a new facility.
We had a Xfire up here and when that dealership turned into a pumpkin they could only sell them as used cars because they were no longer a Chrysler dealer. That one is still sitting there.

I assure you all of these cars are brand new. Window stickers are in the seat. The shoe polish price written on the side glass is pretty well in line with sticker minus a certain percentage. So higher sticker cars have a price higher written in shoe polish. I am not an expert on much but I have been to this dealer almost every month for the past 2 years. Most if not all of these cars were on the lot 1 year ago. Best I can tell they sold 4 cars in the past year. YES I use to go up and count them. I did not nickname each car but knew most of them by sticker before they pulled them off.
Some of you other Houston xFire drivers, surely some of you had been there.
See pics. One has window sticker, but all cars have them in the seat, THEY ARE ALL NEW!

When was the last time anybody paid $30k for a new "NA" Crossfire?
I'm going out on a limb here, but I predict those Crossfires are going to be a familiar sight at that dealer for some time at those prices.
Thanks for the post 07redroadster, at least if any Texas Crossfire owners feel the need for an impromptu Crossfire "GTG", all they need to do is drive down to Jim Archer (when they're closed) with a few dozen of their closest friends, set up lawn chairs, break out the cold drinks, and they can pretend they're at an all Mopar Car show.

But hey, give credit where credit is due. At least Archer stood by his price to try to maintain the value on these cars. Or, maybe he's like us and sees more value than D/C ever did.
Re: 49 New xFires
This dealer is down the street from me. I amnot surprised they are one of the closed dealers. I would not buy from this dealer if it was the only dealer in town. When we were searching for our Crossfire last year in 2008, this dealer had a red and a blue 2006 model left on the lot which they could not sell. So these two are over 2 years old and not selling. I inquired about the red one and was offered a fantastic price of $32K drive out (sticker was $41K) . I told the dealer he was crazy if thats was the best he could do for a 2006 model (not eligible for the lifetime warrenty) that has been sitting on the lot for over 2 years. So I drove 30 mionutes to Spring Chrysler and purchased a brand new 2007 Limited in the exact color I wanted (SSB) for under $28K drive out with all taxes and papers included. They also threw in free tint (already on the car), free sceurity etching on the glass and 4 free oil changes.
I was truly shocked to see that this Archer dealer had orderd about 60 new crossfires a couple of months later since the teo 2006 models were STILL not sold... I bet that the red and blue 2006 models are still on that lot.

Re: 49 New xFires
I would like to buy them all for an even one million dollars. Then store them for 20 years....then..... on second thought, this is not a good idea. Wait, what if I buy just a few SRT's....
I'm just daydreaming, but I do wonder what a mint Crossfire might be worth ten or twenty years from now.

Re: 49 New xFires
If I recall correctly, most all of these are the leftover 2008 models. Archer was the only one in Houston willing to take any more Crossfire stock, so they got all of them. It almost makes sense for them because they would be the only one with them and could get higher prices (how many of us have said that we'll just go to another dealer).
It's a shame to see all of them sitting there
