Default Tired of uncomfortable seat

I finally got tired of the Crossfire seats. They are typical Mercedes design and hard as a rock. If that was fixed and they a little bit bigger I would like the car much more. Today I traded my SSB 6 speed (1900 miles) off for a new Corvette. I liked the seats better and the room is more also. For your information if anyone else is thinking about your investment the 6 speeds are bringing $28000 wholesale. If they start bringing out rebates it will go down. It is bad enough I bought mine under retail sticker but would have been really bad if I had paid over sticker for it. I have learned my lesson on Mercedes design.

Sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the Crossfire. I got mine a week ago and have already put close to 900 miles on it, and I find the seats to be very comfortable.

Default not an investment

I dont' think of it as an investment. And if I did, I certainly wouldn't try to divest myself of the investment by trading in, if minimizing my loss was my goal.

Put 1900 on your Vette, go to trade it in, and you'll probably 'lose' proportionately the same amount (that's percentage wise).

$28K wholesale for a car with 2K on it sounds about right.

If you'd tried to sell it yourself, you would've probably gotten $30K, maybe a tad more.

How true. In addition to my Crossfire, I also own several Corvettes, one of which is a 2002 model, Yes, the seats are bigger and softer. Yes, the Cossfire seats are a bit firmer, but I find both of the seats very comfortable to live with. (6 foot, 220 lbs). And, yes, the Corvette is a much bigger car than the Crossfire and they are each designed for a different purpose. I wouldn't give up either of them. Harleygeorge

I was told when I test drove the Crossfire that DC had used Viper style seats in it. [I liked the ride and commented that the seat felt good and supportive, etc. and that is when the salesmen mentioned the Viper connection. ] I've never been in a Viper so I can't comment, but I found the Crossfire seats to be really pretty good compared to the ones in the Z and G35. To each his own I guess. Interestingly, a Vette has been in my thoughts as well over the last 6 months, but I may wait to see the C-6 platform.

I find the seats to be quite comfortable. They are a bit stiff but that helps hold you in place as you straighten out the curves

I also find the driver's seat to be very comfortable. My only "complaint" is with the passenger seat, I wish it had 8 way power like the driver's.
When my wife drives the car I would be more comfortable in a 8 way seat.
Other then that, I very happy.
