Name of Original battery???
Name of Original battery???
Hello, Everyone--
I've owned my '05 limited for about 6 weeks now and considered replacing the battery now that the car is about 4 or 5 years old. A quick check under the hood informed me that the battery is an "Exact-Fit" brand. I'm assuming this is a replacement battery for I've seen this brand advertised at my local Merchants Tire and Auto. Any thoughts?

Sandgrounder, I asked at Crappy Tire if they had a battery that fit the Xfire and I was told that they did not have one. I suppose he looked in the computer and it was blank, I did not bother to pursue it as I could see that I was dealing with a chump.
I wrote the thread on OEM battery replacement and I wanted to add a Can Tire battery if possible.
Could you answer a few questions so that I can add it to the thread?
It is the same size length x width x height Yes or No?
Does it require a spacer under the clamp?
Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) ?
Cat # ?
Thanks

In your first post you said it was a series 4800 which would seem correct (#48 battery size) now you say its a 8400?
You say same spacer under clamp, do you mean the rubber pad that is snapped between the clamp wires, or there is a loose spacer?
The original just uses the attached pad.
I will add it to the list and maybe buy it myself as my battery was made in 2003, I may be hanging by a thread with it.
