Car makes a noice when I steer right
Hi,
My car is making a light noise when I STEER RIGHT. I took it in to chrysler and they informed me that its my "Steering Damper". They wanted to charge my 1500 dollars to fix this. I dont know what to do. My extended warranty does not cover this. Will this become a huge issue if i dont get this repaired quickly and should i TAKE IT TO another shop to see whats wrong with it.
Thanks,
Frank

You can buy the damper online for about $30 and install it in 15 minutes. Two bolts.

Once in a while I hear a clunk. I have 53K miles and I am wondering if it would hurt to replace the steering damper. I noticed a huge price difference between the 2003 SLK part and the Crossfire part. Would the SLK part fit my car? I don't want to buy an aftermarket part.
