Default What if...

What if... the fuel door does not unlock when unlocking the car. Is their an emergency back-up?
For example; my wifes Volvo S60 has an emergency release cable hidden in the trunk that when pulled, releases the lock.
What if... the cargo hatch latch does not unlock when unlocking the car?
I don't see a manual key access to the latch.
TIA

I don't believe ther is a manual way to get this open.
I'm not even sure it's been brought up here before.
Lets see what the others can add here.

I actually heard about a solution to this problem today. It's probably not the best one, I think it would only work on a coupe & I think it would be ugly. One of my Nissan dealers was trying to get me to trade my car it today on a 370 & they were saying that they just took one in on trade b/c of this problem. The owner actually pulled out all the lining in the "trunk" area on the passenger side & tore some other parts off to pull a actuator that released the pin. I didn't actually see this, but it seems to me that it would be way easier to take it to a dealer....

i love technology. but sometimes it seems like engineers design things just to laugh at us. if u've ever tried to remove the front bumper from a newer vw bug u'd understand what im talking about. thank god i dont work in a body shop anymore

This is what the manual says but I cannot find the access panel except the one for the rear lights. You would have to have arms like a orangutan to reach from that access panel.

I went out and checked this, 4 hours ago, and the access panel is the tail light access. You can reach up in towards the gas cap and feel the hoses and get hold of the latch. I dont think I would try this without taking the passenger trunk liner out so I could see what I was doing. I tooks pics but need to recharge the battries to get them out.....
