Default Squeaky Wheel Is Back

I once posted this problem... here is an update. It sounds like the front driver wheel squeaks while turning at really low speeds (5 MPH). Heard it yesterday while driving slow through a parking lot. It seems to squeak when it wants to.... not loud... like a mouse. This morning I didn't hear anything but I am sure when it gets warmer out and I am driving home tonight I will hear it.

While at the dealership I had them check it out. I told them it was the driver side... check the brakes and bearings. They said everything was fine. I checked the tires... it looked like their paw marks were all over the passenger wheels and I don't think they checked the driver side (unless they put it on the lift and inspected it). Think the guy checking was "out to lunch"? If it needed work I am sure they would have loved to run up a bill. You know how those dealerships are. All I got from them was "everything is ok and there is plenty of life on the brakes".

I thought someone said that in a previous post... that they had the same problem and couldn't find what it was. Maybe it was you.

Very strange! I don't know what it is. I am guessing the dealership checked the wheels and front end... they are usually good at finding the smallest problem.... they are great at spending your money

I am having the same issue in the front of the car and have not had time to check it out.

I was figuring it had to do with the 20s and spacers, but now that I am hearing this, maybe it doesn't have to do with them at all....

I have been poking around the past posts and found others with the same problem. I am also wondering if I should just let it get worse and worry about it then. I guess with all of these moving metal parts you are bound to get some squeaks.

I thought about that... I thought that maybe everything is ok. That everything is tight and safe but just a little dirty.

I have the same problem on the passenger side, too. I was assuming that it was brake squeal since it goes away with a light pressure on the brake pedal. Am going to change the pads out in the near future with Rotex Gold, and thought that the anti-squeal compound on the pads would fix this...we'll see...

I am trying to figure out if it stops when I hit the brakes. The problem is I am already going to slow so by the time I hit the brakes the car stops and the noise is already gone.

Step on the gas a little to keep it rolling while you are applying the brakes...

It is hard to say where a noise is coming from sitting in a car. Could it be the steering damper or a noise coming from the power steering pump?
Do you have enough fluid in the pump reservoir? does the pump turn freely?
Does it make the noise if you are not moving but turning the wheels?

I will try turning the wheel while I am not moving. But I don't think it is the pump or steering fluid. It is a metal squeak and sounds like bad brakes.

Definitely interested in the outcome on this thread. I have the exact same problem on the Driver's side and upon a good look I coulnd't find anything. It doesn't squeak when stopped and turning the wheel only in motion??

Hopefully someone finds out what it may be.

The fact that so many people have the same problem is scary. I doubt this is normal. I will try turning the wheel while stopped but I don't think that is the problem. It sounds like a bad brake... metal squeak. Especially when it is hot outside.

Checked it tonight... still squeaking. Don't know what it is. Maybe it is brakes.

I wonder what the mileage is on everyone that is having the problem. I wonder if my brake pads are ok... maybe the rotor is warped.

I am about to replace my rotors and pads in the front within the next few weeks with disc italia pieces, then we can eliminate the brakes from the equation because I believe it will still squeek.

Mine is only at right around 5 MPH like when I am idling in 2nd (manual yrans) and when get much above 5 or so it either goes away or is soo high pitched I can not hear it. Anyone confirm the same?
