A friend was speed testing his M3 out in the country and a deer jumped from behind a tree when he was at about 70 on his way down from about 140, needless to say the car and deer are no more and he is one lucky *******. Both cars: until they just can't go any faster !
I haven't taken the SRT on any high speed runs since I've had the tune done. Once you've proven to yourself that the cars really CAN do those kinds of speed the urge to do it again, with all of the inherent risks, just isn't there. I may do it again sometime in the future with the SRT but then again, maybe not!
We have a highway just out of town that is nothing but river bottomlands; no driveways, no intersecting roads for miles, just flat land & plenty of trees & water.......and the occasional deer, turkey or misc. varmint.
The latter is the spooky part. I'm not overly fond of the idea of zipping around at over 160 & trying to deal with a deer that decides now is the time to cross the road.

By the way, it is a 2 lane 70 MPH interstate. A few miles up the road it turns to an 80 MPH. I think that is the first and only 80 MPH strip in the country. I usually cruise at 90 MPH so I really am not going too fast over the speed limit. And NO-- I don't live in Germany
