Default Secret Compartment / Hiding Place???

I know this is going to sound slightly odd, so I will explain first

I DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE, but I travel quite frequently and sometimes have a small flask or bottle of booze with me. Being that I do not have a trunk, I would like somewhere to be able to stash a bottle of booze or a small flask so that in case I get pulled over, I will not get an open container violation. Has anyone found any sort of place ether slightly out of view or more hard core hidden completely?? Any info is appreciated, I do not want to get a ticket for having alcohol in my car, especially when traveling through states with different open container laws....

Thanks guys.

John

yeah either under the back floor cover. Or behind the seats. If you pull them forward you can slip a bottle back there then bring it back. Just make sure you put it in the net and dont crush the bottle.

That is what the empty slot on the right under the mat in back is for, Medical kit..... a small bottle should always be kept for medicinal purposes.

there is this comedy site where they have guys go out and do crazy stuff and video it. one of the vids was where he bought a flask at walmart and filled it up with water. he would then stop at stop lights and act like he was sneaking a drink and video people's reactions. he would also take big drinks while in traffic and wink at people, etc. it was really funny, one guy even laughed and held up his own flask to show him his lol.

I'm pretty sure the only place to carry AND avoid any problems is if the container is completely inaccessible from the passenger compartment. That would be either under the false floor in the hatch, or taped to the roof at least one arms-length away from the windows.

You can safely stow your liquor under the cover in the back. I would guess that if you don't give the cops a reason to think they have to search your car they will never know its back there. I used to stow mine back there. Had a family member that had an issue with alcohol. I've since given it up too. Didn't think it was fair I could and they couldn't. The small sacrifices we make.

I'm pretty sure MUTT used to have a full JackDaniels dispensing system in his trunk...

now that's taking it to a whole new level.

There is a compartment in the trunk under the floor board. It is in the location of the air pump and the jack. The compartment is big enough for a bottle. I usually hide a handgun in there for long trips (which is perfectly legal in my state-- I only hide it so crooks don't see it and break in to my car).

Don't drink and drive. Big mistake!

I appreciate all the help and it wouldn't be the same without Mrphotoman trying to mess with someone (in this case - me).

So there is no where else you have found to place items other than under the rear mat and the seats??

My issue is that I have a 150 pound sub box that is nearly impossible to get out of the rear area and lets be real - under the seat is the first place any cop would look....

Anyone super creative?? What is directly under the center console?? Any other ideas out there??

Thanks everyone.

My last idea:

Buy a new bottle and finish it before you return!

You didn't mention the sub box. That sure changes things. I know of no other place in the car you can stash stuff.
Maybe you can leave the flask at home? I sure don't want to push morality here but if there isn't a safe place to stash it I'd be inclined to leave it at home. At least if it was found under the floor cover in the hatchback they can't say you had an open container "in" the car. It was put away for transport.

Do you have the stock engine cover / airbox?

If so, and you don't mind a small drop in performance, you could plug one side and replace one of the air filters with a flask.

If you really want to get into it, you could upgrade to a CAI and modify the engine cover to fit. Then you could stash 2 flasks!

How about modifying your sub box with a hidden door?

haven't found the passenger seat compartment, and what are you referring to?

i need help, just checked my crossfire up and down. definitely something metal under the passenger seat.

Also, what the hell does the button with the arrow and "off" do? It has a light in the center, can only be pushed one way, and when i pushed it with the car off, the light blinked once (red). Help?

If you have replaced the super cup holder with the tray thingy you might have found that there is extra space in the console that is not used. so if you modified the tray such that it did not latch into place too firmly, you could remove it and stow your hooch and then replace the tray.

How about emailing the DEA and ask where they normally find contraband on Xfires, I am sure they will tell you what with the freedom of information act. They might even come to your house and show you, keep the front door open though.

He was talking about right hand drive cars, you will have to look under the other passenger seat. Oh, and that metal thing under the seat might just be the seat.

That switch is for when the police officer has found your bottle of open booze and he is going to tow your car away. It switches of the alarm so that he can lift and tow the vehicle away in silence, except for your cries of misery of course.

no mention of passenger seat compartment..... I was referring to the compartment in the back under the deck....the left side has the tire repair kit and the right side is empty.... at least in the states, since we dont have the first aid kit..
