My new Crossfire is not up to my M-Roadster, what can we do?

Add any aftermarket cat-back exhaust. It doesn't matter witch one... The performance value of one from the other is nominal. The supercharger kit will come with a tuned computer chip or ECU, and a free-flowing air intake. With some other minor tweeks (plugs, wires, headers, etc.), you'll blow away an old M3. Come to think of it, you'll probably be able to keep up with most vetts. All for about $6,000. At least that's what I plan to do with my Crossfire... When I get one.

If you by parts directly from Chysler or Mercedes, or even a high-end tuner like kleeman, you going to pay through the #@%. I bet within the next six months you'll find a supercharger kit for this car for under $5,000. You just don't by from expensive German tuners or from the factory.

Pneesam,
To put things into perspective for you, the XFire would need another 95 horsepower and 17 lb-ft torque to be equal with a stock M Roadster. And, even then, you'd be able to beat one through the twisties, race tracks, etc. because the XFire's handling is a 'bit better.
Also, a 'bit off-topic, but not really... for the XFire to be equal to a brand-new M3 it would have to have 85 more horsepower, and the torque would have to stay the same. But, then again, you'd still outhandle that, as well. BMW sure doesn't make very torquey motors, do they? That's not to bring BMW down, though. I really like BMW cars. I have a '97 Z3 2.8 right now. Oh, speaking of 2.8 Z3's... comparing the power-to-weight ratios of the Z3 and the Crossfire, they're nearly identical. If the Z3 2.8 had 2 more horsepower and torque, they'd both be exactly equal in the power department.
Just some information I thought I'd post up. Maybe it'll help you out when deciding what performance parts to get for your Crossfire.

Eurodirt,
To be on the approx. the same power-to-weight level as a Boxster S, the XFire would need another 55 horsepower and 10 lb-ft of torque. But, keep in mind, a Boxster S also costs about $14,000 more than a Crossfire, new to new. With that $14k you could get the Renntech Package 2 and have 290 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque, and completely blow the Boxster S out of the water. Or, you could get the Renntech Package 1 for $10k and be about on par with the Boxster S power-wise (you'll have more torque than the Boxster), and spend the rest on handling improvements, and then you'd still blow the Boxster out of the water. 8) So, for about the price of a Boxster S, you could have a car that outperforms the Boxster; and, in my opinion, looks a heck of a lot cooler.

Having now put over 700 miles on my xffire I must say that I am quite satisfied with the acceleration of this car which has not changed one bit since I took my first test drive with 215 horsepower under the hood. If I want to go faster I'll take my 2002 Corvette Panel Top out and achieve 0-60 in 4.3 seconds. If I want more elegance on my drive I'll take the Chrysler TC by Maserati which looks great and accelerates not unlike the xfire. If I want more utility it's my 2001 Dakota. (and the stock engine in that causes the tires to squeal in hard acceleration). So, if I want something to be everything and it's only 75% of everything I want, I select an additional car that does different things for me before I'll throw money at after market suppliers to jazz up a car that gives me great satisfaction being just what it is: a solid 2-seat boulevard car that gives me a little thrill each time I slip behind the wheel and put those stallion horse power pistons through the paces I bought, and expected in the first price. A car with very few faults and many pleasures already and, I expect, many more to come! Harleygeorge
