More Newb Questions
After driving for less then 24hrs with my new Crossfire, I have already discovered that it starts happily in 2nd when using the Manual Transmission. Anybody else start from cold in 2nd when cruising around the neighourhood or in city traffic? Any long time harm to the clutch/transmission when starting in 2nd gear?
Secondly, Where is the OBDII Connector found?
TIA!

Re: More Newb Questions
These are torquey little engines and will start happily in second. Since the automatics start in second for "W"inter mode, it's probably safe to occasionally start an MT6 that way as well. But stop and think....if this was good for the car, Chrysler would have made it a 5-speed and widened the gear ratios. Therefore I agree that always starting in 2nd puts unnecessary stress on the clutch and may cause early failure. Price a clutch job, just to test your tolerance for pain. If you're having problems slipping in into first (it's not the best shifting car in low gears), try going to 2nd and then to 1st.

Re: More Newb Questions
I also roll start 2nd; California stops 1 mph 2nd. I was curious about cold starting in 2nd, but did not like the feel. When starting in 1st, I have trained myself to get out of it quick, as the revs build fast here. The power band seems pretty forgiving in all remaining gears. Enjoy the ride.
Re: More Newb Questions
its like driving my big rig, as long as you are rolling a little and not dead stop taking off, you will be fine...keeping everything engaged helps with the wear and tear...now dead stops, I would start in 1st just enough to get the wheels turning, then upshift...with good timing though, you can always about keep rolling a little...
