Default nissan 240 sx

went up against one this afternoon, a lot faster than I thought it would be, but he was in front of me on the on ramp. I suppose I would of gotten him eventually but highway traffic started to get squirrly real quick before anything major happened...90mph-ish. When I did get up along side he was grinning as much as I was and let me go in front of him.

may have had a swap in it

my buddy is in the process of putting a rb25DET in his 240sx.. it's a skyline turbo'd motor.

there is another popular engine swap on those cars.. can't recall the exact engine but it's rather significantly faster than the stock engine and a much easier swap than the rb25DET

It wasn't stock by any means if he dusted you off there a mid 15 second car with not a whole lot of top end.

that's the one

it's "easier" to do than the rb25det, and much more popular

makes them pretty damn quick!

If you keep on racing on the roads you might get to meet Jesus sooner than you want to.

On the street an average late model sedan can run close enough with the NA Crossfire, especially at highway speeds, to make it look like they are as fast. A real drag race could prove beneficial to the NA's reputation with the same car, but when you're street racing and the car is already in front, getting by them takes HP the NA just doesn't have...The NA cars just don't have enough power to weight, these cars really need that extra 100hp in the SRT6.

Forgive my ignorance, but what does NA stand for?

Its a term used to describe a normally aspirated engine. Cars with superchargers or turbos force higher volumes of air into the cylinders for more HP. Of course the SRT6 crowd may think name means "non applicable"
