Default Getting a bit frustrated!

OK, I'm not ticked, upset or ranting but Im just starting to get frusterated at my situation heres the deal... I LOVE my 04 coupe, decided its that one car I want to keep for a long time so I dont drive it in the winter and really do my best to keep her out of the rain. (certifiable clean freak). Im starting to mod it and with every mod I just get a bigger kick out of her.

The problem is, where to go in it!!! I live less than one mile from work so the daily commuter thing isnt worth it. My wife likes the car but I honestly feel she feels a little "trapped" inside of it due to the lack of room so long drives arent really going to "mix her paint". So what do I (we) do? Isnt alot do do around here in Missouri anyways. When I lived in NH there were senic rides and always my beloved Hampton beach cruise. Just doesnt seem to be anything or any place to really enjoy the driving experience here in Missouri.

And before anyone suggests to move back to NH, its on my 2 year plan.

And getting a new wife wouldnt be so cost effective either

So Im just wondering what do you all do, go, to just get your "wheel time" in?

I feel your pain.

Somedays there is nothing to do and no where to go. Just take a trip up to Walmart or the nearest mall to waste some time. Usually for me if i go to these places I end up running into someone I know with something to do. Then from there driving more to wherever my friend wants to go.

I live right next to a major city (Pittsburgh). Cruising down there and seeing whats around is fun also.

Also when anyone wants to do anything I ALWAYS insist on driving to those miles in

I have more than a one-mile commute, so I do get to use my '04 as a DD, but that is getting old - plus living here in southern TX where ALL the roads are under some kind of construction, it's a wonder the windshield is still intact.

Since all we have here are Walmarts, HEB (the only supermarket chain for hundreds of miles) and thousands of dollar stores, there are not many places I can take Scarlet.

HEy - NH is also on our 2-year plan as well (we used to live near Manchester and now want to return to the Monadnock area); we remember quite fondly those lovely foliage tours in our Z3.

Just be patient. Spend the time you have for now finishing your mods, since once you get back east you'll be too busy taking scenic drives to actually work on your car (at least, that's MY plan).

I am getting married in 2 month. My future wife hates my car because I give it a lot of attention. She loves the car but is simply jealous. I worked a deal out with her so I won't have to sell it after I get married She just won't let my put any babies in there when we decide it is time to have children. I told her it is one of the safest cars on the road but she doesn't believe me

Join up with us Gateway guys. We go on wine tours and end up in Herman MO. Just a short hop and your home.

Or a run down 21 and end up in a Cuba MO BBQ. Again not too far from home.

Keep a lookout in the Midwest forum. I or one of the folks will PM you on our next GTG

And you are right, NH is nicer.

If she gets jealous of a car then you are in for trouble, so I suggest strongly that you get rid of that woman.... now. Heck, if she is like that over a car now she really will be a pain if you got a girlfriend later on.

Were in Michigan. Left to our own habits we'd put less than 1000 miles on our car in a year, take it out drive up and down Woodward Ave, switch drivers.....
The solution is we go to Tail of the Dragon. In one 4-5 day trip we put as many miles on the car as we would all year long. Then it becomes a mini vacation getting out to drive it. Any sunny warm day or a afternoon free we're out for a spin. There must be some fun roads (paved) in your area. How far is the Tail, it would be a huge treat to drive it and meet members too. Are there many sports cars in your area? Try to organize them into a driving group-who cares if they are all different cars, it would still be something to do and people to do it with. Or attend a Tail of the Dragon meet, oh I mentioned that already didn't I

Not sure where you get the boring part doc. I'm not admitting to too much in print. There may be a law officer or two here in.

Just something I heard once......

I have managed to put 25000 miles on mine in 2 years and don't drive in the snow in the winter and only travel 16 miles round trip to work.
If there is a road at the end of my driveway then there is a place to go with the Crossfire.
Some of the miles are from 3 trips to the Annual Spring and Fall Dragon meets in North Carolina and 2 trips to Detroit for the Woodward Dream Cruise.
This summer a trip to Carlisle, Pa. to the nationals.
Bought this car to drive and have no problem putting on the miles and finding ways to do it.

I have 1250 miles staring me straight in the face - round trip to New England for a fast Mother's Day visit. More music stored on my hard drive than I will ever be able to play on the trip, other electronic toys, and mostly open road.

Just did that myself (in a dodge PU) with Cathy driving her SRT. Lucky you.

Watch IL and eastern OH for the law. They are out in packs. NJ had a lot out but they were being very lenient. Like 75 in a 60 was OK on I-287

Where are you headed in New England?

Starting from WV, up to the western end of the PA Turnpike then the I-81 to I-84 to I-87 and Mass Pike, up through Ludlow, past Quabbin on 202 to Central Mass.

My Driver STi should help with the situational awareness but generally I keep it a shade under 75 anyway so unless they're being real dedicated to their jobs, I should be OK.

I stop for gas, bring food and beverages, and make it in two or three stops. Without the family in tow I can usually make it an hour or two faster.
