My Driver STi should help with the situational awareness but generally I keep it a shade under 75 anyway so unless they're being real dedicated to their jobs, I should be OK.

I stop for gas, bring food and beverages, and make it in two or three stops. Without the family in tow I can usually make it an hour or two faster.
Then your only worry should be around Harrisburg and the usual Wilkes Barr- Scranton mess. All and all though, a fairly pretty and scenic drive.

Enjoy

That is not as bad as the dumb stretch of 11 that one has to use to transition to 81 from the PA Turnpike. It's beyond comprehension why they didn't make an interchange - the two cross!

All that still is a dream compared to the I-95 corridor running from Baltimore to New Haven. I have all but abandoned that route. That's non-stop insanity. What an improvement to be found when I finally decided enough was enough and did some exploring for different routes. That combined with getting EZ-PASS has actually made the trip something to look forward to.

Now if I could find a way to hide a CB antenna on a Crossfire....

Thanks for the input, now I don't have to pay for therapy. I know to some, it may seem trivial but to me it can become bothersome, and this forum seems to be where owners look for help..in all things. Sorry I put it on the coupe forum, but I guess it proves little things do bother others too . I like the idea of a quick hop home, or hooking up around MO with other crossfire owners. Glad you guys are here as I appreciate all opinions and info.

I agree I-95, especially in CT, is simply awful. I-84 thru Hartford is tolerable.

The Harrisburg PA interchnge is annoying but you have to give the Tollway kudos for all the other improvments in the last ten years.

Yeah I hear you about missouri, as I live in springfield. There are plenty of backroads, but most aren't really that safe. a long straight stretch here and there, but that's it. We do have a small 1/4 mile track about 20 miles away. I would love to find somewhere where I can open up the zx14, without having to worry about unmarked cars, or off duty highway patrol(I got busted buy one for exceeding 100mph in traffic, and following to closely) luckily he didn't have a radar gun, it could have easily been 160mph or so. Here in springfield I see maybe 1 crossfire a month. Oh well I feel you, chris

It was a decent ride - just a little rain on the last leg of the return trip.

I felt like I was driving a fart-can magnet sometimes. These guys driving all sorts of "tuner" rides kept locking onto me. On the way home on 76 one kept trying to bait me to go faster. I was already going fast enough without making myself eligible for a ticket so I didn't go for the bait. Sure enough, my detector alerts and shortly after, behind a mound were two of PA's finest, waiting for somebody to cross the line, and a chase vehicle a little further down the road.

I got some good seat time, lots of open road, and endless tunes.

Massachusetts roads are in a sad state so that was a little brutal. I ended up knocking off the splash plate that is under the radiator. My brother noticed it the next day. Turns out the drawing the service manual does not match my splash plate. But thanks to my brother, I got it snapped and strapped back on so it would not catch some air on the interstate and fold back under the car...

I need to do some more research to identify the missing fastener and get it put back together right.

Apart from going into the details, I got about 22 hours in the cockpit in two installments. It doesn't get any better than that!

I gave up on the weather and went for a ride in the rain. Now I feel better. First time the xfire has seen rain. No hydolock with the Needswings intake either. (exhale) Sometimes the tropics are ..... tropical. But 3 weeks of constant rain is unusual. (except hurricane season) Now I have a good reason to wash the car too. (It was dusty anyway from being in the garage.)
