Just to throw another price out there; the local Midas changed mine for $102. Dealership wanted $120.

Seems like these prices are all over the place. I'd change it myself if I had a garage.

Just returned from an oil change at the Chrysler dealer. It was $97 for 0-40 Mobil oil. I supplied the Mann filter. They gave me back the remainder of the quart.

In regards to Mercedes dealers. I own a Mercedes C350 4 Matic and take it to MB for all services. They would not work on my Crossfire. However they were polite and stated they only work on cars that have a Mercedes emblem.

I purchased the car in Spokane and IMHO that is the best and most service oriented Mercedes dealer on the west coast. I just wish I was near them for my Crossfire. They do not sell 4Matics in Phoenix but I live in Northern Arizona and needed 4 wheel drive with the snow in the winter. Needless to say Xfire only gets driven April - November.

You're more than welcome to use mine for a couple of hours if you need. I live in an apt complex, but change the oil in the corrado all the time in the garage. I live like 10 minutes outside of KOP.

Guys, I pay about $70 for my oil changes at a local shop. They do good work and use the right oil. I am watching and chatting with them while they are doing it.

Must be Illinois. When I did my oil change in Bloomington's Jiffy Lube, they charged me $74,- total (incl. Tax, filter and right Oil(amount and type)). I watched and chatted while one worker changed the oil and another vaccumed the inside of my car and washed all windows. Yeap... service still does exist.
They even appologized how expensive this pedicular oil change was.

Thanks for the replies and insights, everyone.

I've decided to skip the dealership on this one. I'm just not feeling too good about it. I called the local Grease Monkey and they can do it for $90. I've taken my Miata there before with no problem, plus I get to watch them work on it while kickin' back with a coffee. Can't do that at the dealership! PLUS...BIG PLUS!....I drive into the bay and then drive out of it. I like that!

After we call him up and tell him you called him a grease monkey, I doubt he'll still only charge you $90.

When I bought my 04 in March 08, the dealership (Chrysler) offered the first oil change for free. I double checked asking if it was 0-40 and was there a time limit. One year later, 3995 miles, they did it. They told me when I bought it that they had a special tech that went to school min Colorado(?) for crossfires. So far he seems really good and is very approachable. Took it to a different dealership once for a ESP/BAS light and the service guy never even heard of that...they also took 5 minutes to figure out how to open the hood! Makes me wonder...how do service techs put in only 5 quarts when it takes 8.5!? Wouldn't that show up on the dipstick?

Yes and it shows the mechanic is a dipstick as well.

I'm getting my oil changed tomorrow morning. I had a coupon for a free oil change at a local (reputable) garage and asked how much they would charge for a Crossfire with 8.5 quarts of Mobil 1 0-40. He said $50 with the coupon- I said "I'll take it!"

Hopefully they are not giving you a rental so they can joy ride around in your XF....

something to think about, seen it happen before.

The dealer (Century Motors) where I bought my car charged me $131.00 and put in the wrong oil! Now they claim the price of the filters have increased so they want nearly $150.00. So, I'm doing it myself for $75.00 as the FSS indicates.

No joy riding here! I record the mileage and when I picked it up they only put one tenth of a kilometer (roughly 100 yards) on it!

Here in Lakeland, FL, the Toyota dealer changes oil on any make for $12.95, includes filter. I explained to them what my Crossifrire would require and they will do it for $65 + tax.
