Stan, it was great meeting you at the NEX GTG last month. I know you are a decent and honest guy. Franc and I send you our best and hope you get back on your feet soon. I just did a paypal transfer and I hope others will too. After all, what are friends for? Good luck.

I didn't see this thread for five days. Mostly because the forum keeps resetting too often.

Let's keep this one bumped up so it stays active. I'm sure more people will see it and we can get a good guy on the road again.

You have suceeded, I can't spell and your a self centered jerk.
Am I self centered, cheap and a jerk for not wanting to donate money to a stranger that I don't know? It is my dam right not to give a stranger money. Why must everyone have the Robin Hood attitude... that everyone with money MUST help someone in need. Giving Stan money will not help him. He needs a job. If I were to give him money I would let him mow my lawn and pay him twice the amount it is worth. But I will not just give him money. I wish Stan the best of luck in finding a job. I am sorry he is having problems. I will have problems too one day. But I will not be here asking for money.

Montana--- if you are so great and a humanitarian... why don't you send me a few bucks too???? Why not send everyone at this forum some money? I lost money too and I am hurting.... where is my bailout you piece of crap?

Please keep your comment to each other via PMs. This is not the place. You are detracting from the purpose of this thread. It's OK if you don't want to help. Just keep it to yourself.

Sorry FP... I am done. If anything maybe I stirred a few people up and Stan will get more donations out of sympathy

I was thinking the same. I hope you're right. Though, something tells me you're a quiet giver. I wouldn't be surprised that you sent Stan a little something.

I just have to say it. Stan is not a stranger. He is a member of this Crossfire family. An active one.

We are family and family helps each other out.

Sometimes it is about grief and family loss.

This time it is about money. Because times are tough financialy.

But it soon may be about servicing our cars. I don't know so much about servicing our cars. But, when the time comes I hope the "family" is there to help each other out. I'll throw in what I know and hopefully so will others.

Meanwhile, we get along by helping each other get along.

"From birth to death, We are traveling between the eternities"
Laurence Duvall

We all know our final destination in life. For each, it is the same. The journey, is what counts.

You spelled "dam" wrong. Unless of course you meant a large structure that holds water back. I think the dam you wanted has a "n" on the end. I usually wouldn't comment, except you seem to be very concerned when you pointed out the meat vs. meet from earlier.

I think it must be quite difficult to ask anyone for help. I don't think it matters if is a stranger, a internet friend or family. I also think the good feeling you get from helping out someone in need comes no matter how close you are personally to the one you helped. I'm not sure when we have become a world of people jaded to other's needs, but it has happened. I know that I hear why people can't make their car payments at least 25 times a day. I am ashamed to say that all of the reasons have started to sound the same and they haven't stirred any empathy in me at all. This thread is a little bit of a wake-up call.

Stan - Good Luck to you. I hope you land on your feet and know that there are people here who care.

Stan, God works in funny ways and the ripple effect of His/our actions are mindblowing!!! I can understand 07's spitefull attitude to some who simply resort to "begging" because they're lazy or "bums" as those kind of people will always be out there. Maybe he's jaded from seeing so much of it. But just because someone asks for help doesn't mean they are in that catagory. Seems anyone who's ever read one page of the New Testament would see how Jesus gave and helped those in need. The gift of decernment is given to all. It's not to difficult to read your posts and have empathy. You seem to be an upstanding man doing what he can with the situation.

I live my life by the principal of WWJD? God has blessed me in so many ways...my health, my wife, my possessions EVERYTHING! 07's lack of understanding has prompted me to send you an unexpected recent 10% discount from TVT Designs for my CAI. I think God brought that 32 bucks into my life to see what I would/could do with it. And how sweeter it is to send it to a fellow yankee. When I finally relocate back to NH I'll look forward to meeting you AND YOUR X-FIRE in person. Good luck

remember Phillipians 4:13, I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives to me.

It's refreshing to see so many with a kind heart, and not pass judgment.

I was saving up for another mod on my SRT that sits in the garage more than it's driven. I think Stan is a more worthy use of this money. I believe Stan has already paid me back in friendship and camaraderie.

Stan, I only meet you a few weeks ago and since then I've received my white NEX window decal, so from one member to another and yes I know NY is not a New England state but close enough. I'll be more than happy to help you out.

If I needed money I would be asking family members. Not people on forums I don't personally know. I didn't say anything the first time you asked. But now that I hear you complaining... well now I am saying something because I am tired of hearing this. I may get black listed for my thoughts... but I am sorry if I feel that way. This is a forum to talk about cars and get answers to question.... this is not a street corner for begging. If you wanted and were asking for a job... that is one thing and I would love to help you if I could. But asking for money is not the answer to your problems. Begging for money from strangers is degrading. I have more self respect and would never do that. I would rather sweep streets or work 5 dollars an hour jobs cleaning toilets than beg for money.

One day if I ever need help, I will not be asking people here in this forum.
I'm sorry but I have to jump in here. Stan is one of the three original founders of NEX and a great guy who has and would help anyone without asking for anything in return. I don't know who you are or what your beliefs are nor do I care. What I do know is that what you said was in poor taste and a mockery of what this forum is all about. If you're not interested in helping my good buddy then, buzz off and find someone else to ridicule. This forum is not the place.
It took a great deal for him to ask for help, I know. You took the time to read his plight and spent the time you could have spent sending him a couple of bucks, saying something demeaning. Shame on you!

Stan, I feel for you. I too lost my job. Lost mine on October 1, 2008.

It is so hard in today's world to try to get through day to day.

From my two GTG's with NEX, I KNOW that you are a good man and someone that I am glad to have gotten to know a little.

Keep fighting, you WILL make it.

I can't send much, but a PayPal is headed your way.

Frank

Frankly, i'm proud that he asked.
It says a lot about the people on this forum that I call my friends.

I hope Stan will let us know just how much the forum was able to help him. Curious to know if we made a collective difference.
