Matter of fact, here's a link to the search:

If I remember correctly, wasn't it around a $60,000 conversion to start with? Add the price of a Crossfire to that. Now ask yourself......does this sound like a car a 15 year old is driving?

not to mention to do that conversion you have to be one hell of an enthusiast... which begs the question... would an enthusiast who invested (assuming tail end close to 90 grand because, would you buy a used xfire to invest 60K more into it?) turn around and than sell it?

They said this is the car used as the Performance car by Chrysler. I don't really understand it but they say it has different parts and around 280 hp. They would not give specific details about what the parts are but they are powerful.
i believe you man, i have the 7th test car. it has a black hole generator (shhh do not tell anyone please) and I can run the 1/4 mile in -27 seconds at 23098402384023408230482304208304230842084380242984 2904023042304209340293482308402934234203mph

and even better question in my mind is...would such a big enthusiast who invested so much money...not be an active member of THIS FORUM!!!!
Re: Race
I wasn't saying this person had a V8 conversion that would be a little to obvious don't you think? and being that it's a 6 speed car that kind of rules that out also. If you knew about Startech then why would it be a far fetch that the car was sold after the car got some upgrades from the first owner? Everyone wanted to jump on the guy and tell him that his statement was false (to put it mildy) I was just showing there was a possibility that it could be true. Also that an NA has the potential to be in that range with whats out there today or 5 years ago.

For the record....there's been exactly ONE person on this forum who has claimed to own, and provided pictures, of a Startech Crossfire.[/quote]

Re: Race
2005crossfire6speed, since you very conviently forgot to mention your name or where you live, this adds a great deal to the BS factor of this thread. (Mr Photomans great video not withstanding) not to mention the impossible claims that you have made.
Since the forum has 1970 active members, that means there are Crossfire owners living all over this country, and other countries too. With that being said, I'd be willing to bet there's a forum member very near you right now.
Why not divulge your whereabouts, and agree to meet up with another Crossfire owner, so we all can get a 2nd. opinion of the this truly remarkable Crossfire that you wound up with.
I know, I'd be willing to drive atleast 100 miles (one way) just to see a 12 sec. NA car.
So how about it? It's always a good time when two or more Crossfire owners get together.

Re: Race
I'd be focusing my suspicions more on the fact that at 2.40AM (the time as it shows to me in the UK) the OP didn't have a clue why the car would be able to do 12.98sec, then by 4.18AM the OP had got through to someone knowledgable enough at Chrysler to trace the VIN and determine it was a special test model! It takes me that long to get through to a call handler, let alone anyone who has any idea what VIN is, and certainly not anyone who is willing to divulge any history of a car.

You will get no mercy now.
Re: Race
I tend to agree with the majority of the posters it's very far fetched that you would see a 1989 Trans Am and buy it only to find its a 1989 25th Anniversary 3.8 Turbo TA Or that you have a 12 second Naturally Aspirated Crossfire fall in your lap that someone dumped a ton of money into. The good thing is it is possible and hopefully we can see a video in the future with an NA posting better times then what we have.
Re: Race
EXTRA EXTRA, read all about it!
Original poster is full of crap!
I just got home and talked to my boyfriend, who used to work as the service manager at Chrysler, and helped test drive these "prototype" test vehicles.
By law, Chrysler (and I'm assuming all other vehicle manufacturers) are NOT allowed to sell any prototype/test cars. They must either be put on display or destroyed.
To the original poster: My boyfriend would like your VIN#. He is good friends with everyone that still works at Chrysler. He is willing to go out of his way to look up your VIN# and tell you ALL you need to know about your vehicle! I'm sure Chrysler would love to know how one of their extremely rare prototype testers got in your hands!
So, if all you say is true, and you're not willing to post a picture with your time slip or pics of your car, why not send over the VIN #?
If you are correct, I will be the first to apologize.
Mrphotoman....thank you so much for the laughs today!
