Default Getting a Genesis Coupe

Hey you guys jumping ship over to the poor boy Hyundai camp. lol
It may not look as cool as the crossfire but if I loose my job I can atleast return it without bad credit...

hey atleast is has a real LSD and makes over 300hp. I've learned my lesson with the xf, and will be getting the automatic.

I really want to see one of these in person and drive it. It is a hyundai but I try not to judge anything before giving it a chance.

I'd take a Genesis.
What is going to happen to the XF?

Great car actually, and it was penned by the same guy, Eric Stoddard, who penned the Crossfire. So you're sort of staying in the family.

I think it looks even better in person than it does in the photographs.
It took me a while to get use to the "lowered" rear side glass, but seeing the real car it all seems to come together.
According to MotorTrends road tests, the automatic runs over a second faster than the automatic Crossfire at 14.0, and the manual runs a 14.2 sec. 1/4 mile.
Nice warranty too.

The auto is actually faster on those cars.

Definately a good choice, hyundai makes a damn good car. Post up photos when you get it, they are super nice. Have you seen any modded photos of them? It does not take much to make them look amazing!

doesnt really have the charisma or heritage of a crossfire though, does it.

looks modern and funky now, what about 5-10 years?

my opinion. is all.

A Korean tuner has a twin turbo setup that is making 500+hp and there are several others running around making 400+hp.

Bucher racing (the big evo tuner company) supports the genesis as well and are making lots of goodies for the car.

That would be a big plus for most, availability of parts. I like the X however cause I enjoy challenges.

Just curious what you mean when you "learned your lesson with the XF and will be getting an auto?" Problems with the 6 speed in the XF?

Mr Photoman is correct about the 1/4 mile times, I got them backwards in my last post. (I corrected it).
The automatic Genesis uses a 3.73 gear, vs the manuals 3.54.

I would like to test drive one and try out those paddle shifters on the steering wheel. I have never driven a car that has those, have you? They look like they would be a lot of fun to use.

No I haven't Mr. Photo, should be interesting. Paddles seem to be all the rage now. I can see how it would come in handy on a road like the Dragon.
I'll eventually take one for a test drive, just not in the market for a new car right now.
Wish I could get as good of a deal on a new Genesis as I did with my Crossfire. Who knows, maybe in a year or so, but I doubt it. Hyundai is making money, unlike Chrysler when they were bleeding cash profusely.

I have driven the SMG on the new M3 and paddle shifters in a modded out Audi, both were amazing cars that were faster than hell, but personally, nothing can replace the feeling of a clutch pedal under your foot. When I would really be into it, I would find myself going for the clutch

Nice choice in cars! I sat in a V6 manual this weekend and felt it was really well put together.
