Just watched a video from the car show on the genesis...the prototype is amazing...too bad they won't put the v8 in it...but I am sure the tuners will take care of the 6...I wish we could go to a 373 or a 354 rearend, it would make a tremendous difference in the quarter....

I'll eventually take one for a test drive, just not in the market for a new car right now.
Wish I could get as good of a deal on a new Genesis as I did with my Crossfire. Who knows, maybe in a year or so, but I doubt it. Hyundai is making money, unlike Chrysler when they were bleeding cash profusely.
yeah, hyundai actually sold more cars in the first quarter of 2009 than they did in the first quarter of 2008 i read somewhere. That is pretty impressive. They sell their cars at a great price and when you get on the lot there is always that big loyal customer discount on top of the other rebates they always have going on.

You have a viper, right? I know a guy that lives not too far from me that has a blue one that he has supercharged, it is pretty crazy. He does not take it out very often though.

Tons of photos here, best to start at the end of the thread and work your way back since the older photos are dead:

Thanks for all the nice pics Photoman, its a beautiful car. Your pics inspired me to go look at one this past Sunday afternoon. Its a pretty car but.............it's a Hyundai, there's no Mercedes heritage like the Crossfire. Quite frankly when you get down to it it has that 370Z look to it. I'd be willing to bet you there will be way more of these on the street than Crossfires. One of the things I like about our cars is they are fairly rare, still to this day. The black Genesis I looked at was all decked out with the polished wheels etc but other than being a 300+ hp beast it left me with the same feeling as the 370Z, nice car but I like the Crossfire better. Not ready to give up my Crossfire just yet.

I would think that the crossfire and the gen coupe/370z appeal to different people looking for slightly different things. If originality is important to you, only a Z4 coupe/M coupe would come close to offering that aspect. I'm sitting here wondering though, whether the mercedes heritage is a good thing. If the crossfire was a mini-viper as opposed to a SLK in haloween clothing, I think it could be even better than it currently is.

Z-4 coupe ? Nah the Z-4 is an ugly car and I'm not a BMW fan. We owned one (not a Z-4 but a 528) and I wasn't impressed with it. If you are looking for performance the Genesis is a great buy. Your not sure the Mercedes heritage is a good thing? It sure was a selling point for me.
