Newb Questions
Hey guys, Ive been noticing a few things that are alot different then the other cars ive had or even drove in the past and without a manual to my car i cant read up on these things to well. I was just wondering if these things are normal for my 04 Chrysler Crossfire with 68k miles. First of all the radio stays on for a good 30 minutes after i turn the car off and lock the doors. Sometimes the parking lights also stay on alittle while or until i go out and open and close the doors There are some times its just one side of the lights. I also get a double wrench symbol that said -33600 and now says -33700; and that replaces where the millage is. Ive only been driving it (like a granny) for a few days now so I dont think I would have done anything to it. I have a 1 month 3k mile warrenty on the thing so im trying to find all the bugs before then. Any responces will be greatly appriciated.

The rest of the stuff sounds like a electrical troubleshooting nightmare or bad computer.

Your 2nd answer your totally wrong, its normal for the radio to stay on after you take out your key for 30min and it is also normal for the lights to stay on when you come out of your car, I guess its a security thing where it lights your way.
As far as the parking lights staying on 1 side, look at your light switch, if you go over to the left past off you can leave either the right or left on, its a European thing you would leave the park light on on the side of the street so on coming cars would see it.

2) The radio is supposed to stay on for about 5 seconds after you turn the car off, and will stay on for 30-60 minutes (can't remember exactly) if you press the power button before those 5 seconds are up.
3) When you close the doors the parking and fog (if you have them) lights will come on for a few seconds before going off.
4) The lights are probably the switch. If you turn it to the left there are two extra positions for European cars. One for the left only parking lights and one for the right. If you have fog lights, there is also a second pop out, after the fog light pop. Also for European cars that would activate the rear fog lights, not available on our models.
There, I think I made sense in that.

RESETTING THE FSS MAINTENANCE INDICATOR AFTER AN OIL CHANGE
1. Move the ignition switch to the “RUN” position.
2. Within 4 seconds of moving the ignition switch into the
“RUN” position, press the reset button for the trip odometer
twice within one second. The display for the FSS service
request is activated for 10 seconds
3. During the 10 seconds the FSS service request is displayed,
move the ignition switch to the “OFF” position.
The FSS service request will continue to be displayed.
4. Press the reset button for the trip odometer and hold.
5. Move the ignition switch to the “RUN” position
6. Continue to press and hold the reset button for the trip
odometer (about 10 seconds) until the audible signal
sounds and the new start distance appears in the display.
The tool symbol should disappear at this time.

It a great feature though. I hate having to heat a door chime dinging in with your tunes.

Hey Tidus,
Can I "coat-tail" onto your thread with another NEWB question......?
I've had my 'new" Crossfire since Jan 2nd..... and have been reading / learning alot from all of the smart and very helpful guys on this FORUM.
My Question: What does N/A mean.....? It seems to be used in context when comparing/contrasting a standard (Base or Limited) Crossfire to an SRT-6.
Or,,,,, does it stand for North American....?
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Newb Questions
Hi,
Some tidbits to add...
The radio stays on for 60 minutes if you turn it on after the key is removed.
The fog light duration can be changed by the dealer either longer or shorter but I don't know what the cost would be.
The light switch can be pulled out once for the front fog lamps and out one step further for the single rear fog lamp (EU only).

To the original poster, I see you are from gettysburg. I went to school there. Ah the memories!
Re: Newb Questions
Wow went to school in gettysburg? Gettysburg Area im guessing. Thats cool. Its a small world isnt it! So they disabled the rear fog for most US Crossfires interesting. Wish i had my baby right now id go check. My girlfriends driving it to work. I cant say im not worried about the rims!

If the car has the euro-specific city lights, I think it should have also come with the rear fogs (which I think are more useful to in the US than the city lights).
