Help me out here....If you are not breaking the law, then why are you getting pulled so much?

Mr Burns.... When I do 130 on the highway they are not there. But they will pull me over for 5 MPH over the speed limit. Next time I get pulled over I will get the cops name and number and you can call him. You can ask him why I am getting pulled over so much. Maybe they think I am ugly.

The Vette's are worse. I've never been pulled over in either car, but I've been followed a lot in the Vette. One cop followed me right up to my garage door. BTW, if you're going 10mph over the speed limit, you're asking for a ticket. I'll go 6 over on the smaller roads and 8 over on the freeway. It's still taking a chance but it's worked fine so far.

In general, I don't like the message a radar detector sends to other motorists, and cops; that being that I intend to speed. But after reading this thread I plan to order a detector for my new Crossfire. I simply want a level playing field.

Blackcrossfire07, if you are younger that may have something to do with it. I've noticed in my neck of the woods that most cars pulled over are driven by teens and 20somethings. It is rare to see an old codger like me behind the wheel of a car that the cops have pulled over. So, maybe it's partly generational.

Cassidyrj1, I did notice the posts recently about the Crossfire gathering in Syracuse in May. I'm thinking about going, but not sure. I'm just an hour or so south of where the meet will be.

It doesn't have to be visible. Make sure to get one worth having. Several aren't

Detectors are good especially if you are in an area you are not familiar with. It alerts you to issues and the obvious response is you slow down. Some towns have roads setup as speed traps. Going 2 miles over will get you a ticket. So it does help with towns that generate revenue from traffic enforcement. Melbourne Beach FL is a good example. The road is a posted 30MPH, they even have a sign before entering the road as to what the speeding fines are going to be!

- COLOR -

I'm surprised nobody has made the comparison as to the number of times pulled over to the color of the car. Bright color cars like red cars typically get more attention thus tickets than dark cars.

Good point, Inferno. Let's see, my Olds Delta 88 is dark red (maroon). Never been pulled over in it. I've had red Dodge Colts, and a red Chrysler Concorde - never pulled over in one of them either. My XF is an all black base coupe, been pulled over once in it.

Comparing your Crossfire to sedans and a subcompact for the purpose of this topic is irrelevant.

Yes, the young guys probably get nailed more often than us older dudes. I would suggest not wearing a backwards baseball cap!!! It screams " Young Dude driving"

I am in my mid 30's. I am a white collar worker. I wouldn't consider myself young but I guess compared to you guys, I am. Thanks for the compliments on my age
