Got Nailed
Re: Got Nailed
Mr Burns.... When I do 130 on the highway they are not there. But they will pull me over for 5 MPH over the speed limit. Next time I get pulled over I will get the cops name and number and you can call him. You can ask him why I am getting pulled over so much. Maybe they think I am ugly.

Re: Got Nailed
The Vette's are worse. I've never been pulled over in either car, but I've been followed a lot in the Vette. One cop followed me right up to my garage door. BTW, if you're going 10mph over the speed limit, you're asking for a ticket. I'll go 6 over on the smaller roads and 8 over on the freeway. It's still taking a chance but it's worked fine so far.
Re: Got Nailed
Blackcrossfire07, if you are younger that may have something to do with it. I've noticed in my neck of the woods that most cars pulled over are driven by teens and 20somethings. It is rare to see an old codger like me behind the wheel of a car that the cops have pulled over. So, maybe it's partly generational.
Cassidyrj1, I did notice the posts recently about the Crossfire gathering in Syracuse in May. I'm thinking about going, but not sure. I'm just an hour or so south of where the meet will be.

Re: Got Nailed
Detectors are good especially if you are in an area you are not familiar with. It alerts you to issues and the obvious response is you slow down. Some towns have roads setup as speed traps. Going 2 miles over will get you a ticket. So it does help with towns that generate revenue from traffic enforcement. Melbourne Beach FL is a good example. The road is a posted 30MPH, they even have a sign before entering the road as to what the speeding fines are going to be!

Yes, the young guys probably get nailed more often than us older dudes. I would suggest not wearing a backwards baseball cap!!! It screams " Young Dude driving"
