Default Car towed... anything I should inspect when I pick it up?

I went out to drive to work, this morning, and found my car was missing.

I called the police, and they've told me the apartment complex towed it because it was parked on private property... my private property.

While I won't be paying for the apartment's mistake, I'm afraid of any damage to my car. I've heard horror stories about car towing... but I don't really know if there's anything I should inspect.

Any tips, before I go to pickup the car? (I leave in an hour :P)

Was it locked? Did the alarm system go off when they towed it...like it's supposed to?

I hope they were nice enough to use a flat bed.

I see it coming...

"1-800 LITIGATE"

Sorry to hear this, I would be having a true heart-to-heart with the apartment manager. Does yours require a sticker or do they have a database of license numbers?

My baby appears unharmed.

My apartment complex has a database of license plates. The did NOT call before they decided to tow my vehicle.

When the car was towed, I was in my bedroom. I was literally fifty feet away from the vehicle.

It ends up I was parked half off the pavement, on the grass.

I had to pay $205.

I am very angry.

why did you half to pay if they complex messed it up. Go in there and raise hell to get them to repay you for it.

Sorry to hear that, bud.

I'd still have a heart-to-heart! A simple phone call could have averted a large cost to you, and the hard feelings this is sure to cause.
