Re: I keep asking people to join our forum
I met this guy at Walmart in Roebuck,Sc /Greenville/Spartanburg area and ask him to come to our forum and look around and join us.I Leave a notes on everyone I see inviting them in.But it seems like a waste of time .I can not get anyone in this area to do any thing.Guess I should just give up! NOT! I tell them about the great time we had at the Dragon Tail,Maybe one will come. One can only hope.
Re: I keep asking people to join our forum
In the last 3 years I've probably distributed at least a dozen notes on as many Crossfires I've seen parked. I've also personally spoke to 4 or 5 Crossfire owners, inviting them to check out the Forum.
I have yet to see anybody join and admit to being directed to the forum by a note left on their car.
I know (to most of us here) it's hard to think of the Crossfire as nothing more than mere transportion. But it seems that many XF owners do.
Or maybe most Crossfire owners simply don't take advantage of Website forums.
I'm going to continue putting notes on every XF I see, so who knows, maybe eventually somebody will respond.

I feel the same way. Out of the 20 or so notes I've left, only one person has become part of the forum. I guess to some (apparently most) owners, it is just mere transportation, as stated above. I'd hate to own something so sweet and miss out on all of this info on here and the people you can meet. Their loss I guess
Re: I keep asking people to join our forum
I have had the same response and I have even made post cards and business cards to hand out. It seems like a waste of time but I will do it until I run out of cards.
I guess if someone wants to join in, they already would have on their own before anyone had approached them

I am the one you meet in the parking lot of the wal-mart in spartanburg. I came to the site when I first got the car to look at how to instal a navagation unit and I also found how to add the beep when you lock and unlock the car. I do admire my crossfire, but my real passion is in bikes. If I had more funds I would like to do some small mods to the car to make it unique. I like the hood on +fireamx. Any info on it?

I think a lot of people have a passion for their car but when approached by a "club' guy wonder how much of a gear head they would have to be to fit in.
My dabble with the Jaquar group was rather intimidating..I didn't have a car or a family pedigree or lots of dough, knowledge of the car, or any of the things that would encourage a newbie to get involved. Most people think a car club is selective about it's members.
This group is different. More open and friendly. Seems all you need is a passion for the Xfire.
H*ll, you all let me in. To be honest, it had me worried for a while.

Re: I keep asking people to join our forum
As a Newbie myself I would have never joined this or any other car forum had it not been for someone telling me about all the great things that happen on it!
Mr. 007 & I met 7 years ago and I would have never looked twice at a forum back then. I never even knew they existed! Especially for a girlie girl like myself if you see a chick driving a Xfire, still tell them about all the little things that they can find out about their cars-(like things about the Nav.).
We're even coming up with some cards to put out and I even chased down someone the other day to ask them to join--- too bad I was in the Nissan! No wonder why they were like WTF!

Re: I keep asking people to join our forum
My efforts to get non members to join have been impossible.
Handed out several cards and talked to a number of owners I have crossed paths with but nothing came of it.
Now on the other hand our new member "Route 66" just joined.
He discovered 8 of us in our Crossfires driving to the Dragon last fall.
We pulled off the road and the rest has made history.
See the story here and be sure to welcome Paul.
He is getting a case of Crossfire envy currently but has not gotten one yet.
