Not sure how many were recalled, mine is a very early '04 crossfire, originally built in May of 2003. I highly suggest you complain about this issue to the dealer in hopes for rack and pinion replacements, however, I'm sure that they corrected the issue with the recirculating ball gear that you queers keep talking about. So I'm flipping all of you off, and telling you to go shove it.
I politely say that you were misinformed. A new rack and pinion system was never developed for our car.

If your story is anything beyond hearsay, I recommend providing documentation so the community can benefit.

Thanks ahead of time for sharing.

Alex

<EDITED> Carfax probably had a drop down menu for steering repair, and someone selected that option. </EDITED>

That is probably what happened, and tactfully said.

Lilredrocket,
Thanks for sharing that. I mean that. Maybe not the last two sentences...

About the steering, can anybody find out about this recall? I want rack and pinion. And if the recall was for a 04 then it probably wont apply to my 07 right?

There is no kit available (Factory or otherwise) to convert the Crossfires steering to Rack and pinion. Somebody was just mistaken, that's all.
All "NA" Crossfires use the same suspension parts no matter what year.

and as an old truck driver...I love this steering...I replaced the the steering stabilizor because my shop checked alignment when I installed the new tires and brakes...put on the aftermarket stabilizor...car drives a whole lot better...so take it back to the dealer have it all checked out...and if it still does it, the stabilizor is only 40 bucks...give it a try...it worked for me...and I'm as picky as they come...

Thanks, Oledoc2u,
I'll have to look into that. There's gotta be something to that since I've seen the stablizer mentioned many times.
