"I hate stupid people" rant
Stupid people has always been one of my pet peeves. I use the phrase "I hate stupid people" probably way too often and have wondered where I could go to get a bumper sticker made with this saying. Remember the kid in the movie "The Sixth Sense" who said he saw dead people? Well. I see stupid people.
Soooo, anyway, I take my '04 Coupe (16,xxx miles) to the dealer (A Chrysler dealer) where I bought it to have the oil and filter changed before putting it to bed for the winter. They get me right in and they head off with my car to the oil change rack. I grab a newspaper in the waiting area and kick back. I'm in the waiting area and after about 50 minutes I start thinking "What's the deal? These guys should be done by now?" 15 minutes later, stupid person #1 comes up to me a says "Uh, do you know how to reset the oil change monitor? We've been trying to figure it out for like half an hour." I keep it to myself, but I'm thinking "Man, I hate stupid people...." So I tell him how to do the reset and off he goes. Five minutes later he returns and says, "You're all set, you can check out with the cashier." Now did I mention that when I came in I gave the check-in dude one of their dealer coupons for a free oil change and filter that was included in my X-Fire purchase? Yep, you guessed it, I get to the cashier and it wasn't applied. I'm now thinking about the guy that checked me in.... "Man, I really, really hate stupid people!" We get it figured out, they hand me my keys, and I head out to the car. I get 10 feet from it and realize the car has water drops all over it. (I drove to the dealer with a vehicle that didn't have a speck of dust on it, and a high gloss sheen from my many hours of summer spent hand washing and polishing.) I wheel around and head back in and walk up to stupid guy #2 and say "You guys washed my car and it didn't have a speck of dust on it when I came in!" So he says, "Well, we knew you waited a while so we took it through the car wash a couple of times." I said "A couple of times? The car has NEVER been through a car wash before!" And stupid guy says " I guess we weren't thinking......." Argh! He offers to have someone wipe it off, but I'm thinking "Yeah, probably by someone with a brillo pad...." I tell him "I don't want to seem like a jerk, but, no thanks.", and I head out on my way.
Incompetent people I can take, they just haven't been trained properly. Stupid people are just taking up space and the worst part is that stupid people meet other stupid people, they breed and have stupid babies. It's not just because I'm picky about my ride, I see stupid people all the time. I don't expect everyone to be an Einstein, but sheesh!
If you have a rant, or a story about a stupid person, let's hear it.

Consider, if you will, how far down in the food chain someone with "average" IQ is ... and when you recognize that literally HALF of humanity is BELOW AVERAGE, you realize why it is we make that comment so often ... it really makes you think twice when driving in heavy traffic when you recognize that half of those around you are among that lower tier ...
One of the reasons I enjoy participating in this forum is that stupid folks are conspicuous in their absence here ... this group is (seriously) a cut above ... I appreciate that and take great enjoyment from being here as a result ...

Change your own oil gives you peace of mind
It makes me think, even if they offer free oil change... I would have to watch them to make sure they use the right materials...
But if they came up to me and asked how to reset the oil change timer; I would ask for my keys :S
