My son's car has had the radio stolen 3 times, the 1st time, they broke out the window, when the car was unlocked, the 2nd time, broke out the window, didn't get the sterio, 3 time just the sterio....and I am a cop...so you know how pissed I was...I installed cameras on the house after the first breakin...caught the next 2 thanks to X10 Cameras....www.x10.com...it sucks, can't always protect everything...look in you neighborhood, all these thieves lived nearby...

 

After reading this I an not leaving my car unlocked in the garage with the key in it any more. I have come home and found the door open, I live by Ohare airport.
I changed my opener and havent had this happen again.
Sorry the car got so damaged.

 

enzio - Wyckoff Chrysler has the navi radio listed for 1895$ if you want to go that route.

It was nice of you to post that though! Yes I know the speakers are the main problem, but why not start from scratch without that ridiculous markup. I have the NAV. system and it's nothing to write home about! Buy a Thomas guide and put the rest into more fidelity!

 

I agree Mr. Max I'd get something that is I-pod compatible although I think the Navi has RCA jacks that the regular radio doesn't have so you can hook up an I pod . For that money you could get a nice setup and probably have some money left over. That's still a lot of money but its about half what he was originally quoted I think.

Yes Patpur, and I have a sneakin' feeling that the aftermarket retailers are getting real flexible about price. After Christmas would be my target date. Of course that's a long time without sounds. Maybe he should buy a catback system to listen to in the meantime.

Sorry but when you said who the hell still steals radios the only thing that came to mind was the Chappel show where that crack head busts out a window and snatches the radio and then looks at the lady and goes oh yeah people do still steal radios :X

 

Thanx for all the input guys....I'm taking it up to the local dealer here friday to access the damage...The Chandler PD is treating it as a burglery since the car was in the garage..they came out and took finger prints they said sometimes they catch the little low life thieves..Most of the time they pull sombody over and catch them with goods or there in the system...I really don't care to much about getting my stuff back I just want the #*^% caught...Like the rest of us I work hard and honest for my belongings and it just suks that sombody comes along and seems they can help themselfs
