Does anyone know for sure if the skirt for the coupe is the same as the roadster? I assume they are, but are we sure?

Actually, I never said that overlays are the only option...I said that they are a possibility. We can also do replacement.

And also...you have to realize that with a fiberglass replacement side panel, you can stick your foot right through it if you're not careful. If it's hollow underneath the skirt, there's nothing but a thin layer of fiberglass that's going to be exposed to every day ins and outs--not to mention the outside elements. On the other hand, an overlay that sits on top of the OEM side skirt will have support from underneath. You guys might want to consider this.

Oh and, you DO NOT want to ship a pre-painted part because it WILL chip or crack during transit--no matter how well it's packaged. That's a can of worms that you really don't want to open.

If it is, the overlay will sit right on top of the OEM skirt and attach in the wheel wells. A price of $300 for this GB should be fine if that's the case. On the other hand, a full replacement part will more than likely be in the $400 range if additional materials or fittings are needed.
I'd do some research on this before posting people putting feet through direct replacements. I've had one of these off, I know whats underneath and I I know how they mount. I have a pretty good grasp on what areas are going to be a problem, and what would need to be done to overcome them. I appreciate you trying to spearhead this and you are right when you say that like the Tiburon, we have a limited aftermarket but if you're not doing the research and one of "your guys" is doing it, how can you accurately answer any questions asked and know how anything is going to work. For all you know, you could have found out that there wasn't anythign but air behind that rocker panel and it was all jsut for looks. I was hoping you were goign to be more proactive about this and not just delegate it to others and stand around watching it from the sidelines.

Maybe I missed it, but did Mike's question get answered?

I still don't see what you people have against me owning a company and not doing the work myself. I have PROFESSIONALS who do the work while I handle "business" related functions. In this new company that you're dealing with, are you speaking directly to the CEO who will be hands-on with the actual work that's being done? Just because my company has a different structure than some of the others doesn't mean that's a shortcoming.

Either way, if this other company is familiar with the car (i.e. has had the side panel off) and says that they can retail a set of sideskirts for $350 before shipping, then I can do so for $350 shipped. Not only that, but I can also offer the option to have them done in carbon fiber and/or Kevlar--as well as colored carbon fiber and/or Kevlar! Of course, these two materials will cost a bit more (maybe around $500 shipped), but at least the members of this forum will have the option to get something other than fiberglass. As I'm sure you all know, if you get a carbon fiber/Kevlar sideskirt, they will not have to be painted--so the slightly higher cost of the skirt is offset right there.

In post #9 FP. Since they are replacing the stock "Rocker Panel", they shouldn't protrude beyond the tires sidewall.
I only asked, because I have some experience with "sidepipes" on my AMX, and I have big enough tires on it to hide them from behind. On an AMX with "stock" size wheels and tires, the dealer installed "factory" sidepipes can be seen from behind and they make one think of "running boards".
I think these new "side skirts" should look real nice. But IMO I wouldn't make em hang too much "lower" than the stock rocker panel. Because thanks to our "chopped" roofline, the Crossfire already has a fairly "chunky" profile.
I do think one advantage of installing them would be better "stone chip" protection from the front tires.

Do they actually perform any function other than make the car look lower and "Thicker" than it already is?
I thought they were originally designed to make the car more aerodynamic when used in conjuction with a very low front "air dam".
I, too would like to know if they stick out beyond the tire. I think that if the bodykit sticks out more than the tires, it looks like a ricer.

They will NOT look like the above picture and thank gawd because that is hideous!

This is about the extent of them sticking out. Hope this helps clear up any confusion.
