Just what we need .. another large "bail out" for the tax payers to pay for!....

"Even though you're getting the rationalization of folding the two businesses together, it doesn't make sense at this time," he said. "There's got to be some sort of outside motivation for them to do that sort of deal, especially in this market."
That outside motive, analysts speculated, could be the federal government, which would inherit massive pension liabilities if either company went under.

PROPOSED merge. don't make it out like it's already happened, because it hasn't.

I can see many overpaid union members losing their jobs if the merger happens.

What exactly does that mean?? Someone who fought for fair wages to make a decent life for his family? What about the millionaire ceos that mismanaged the company and stole money from the pension funds?
Unions are what brought peoples wages up to what they are today. Are you suggesting we get rid of the unions so it can be like the good old days and people work 12 hr. days for 5 dollars an hour?? This not the unions fault.
No, I don't belong to a union. I used to at my old job. My current wages are about what I made 15 yrs. ago.

Have you ever noticed how ANGRY union officials aka mafia members and union workers are lmao? They are ALWAYS pissed about something lol. I especially love it when a company tries to tell the union THEY CAN NOT AFFORD to pay any more and the union ignores them. Then a year later the company is bankrupt and all the union workers are on the local news crying saying 'we do not know what happened, the mean evil company went bankrupt on purpose instead of paying us $100/hr to be janitors, etc."

There is a local steel stamping company that had the very thing I just described happen, it was a hoot seeing their reactions after the company told them over and over again that they were losing money like crazy because of cheaper non-union an foreign companies under pricing them. They were no longer competitive in the market because the union was sucking them dry which is quite typical.

You have to love organized crime and the blind sheep that follow them lol. I am sure there are some angry union members that will read this and go nuts, the truth sucks lol.

Lol, I take it you have been around unions before

There is a union office up the road, here is a photo of one of their representatives meeting with a union worker I snuck and took the other day:

I think it's all about top management sucking the companies and stock holders dry. They make policy, negotiate the contracts and manage the union. All other industries lay people off with a severance package. Automotive will buy union employees out for $100,000 plus. Management agrees to this stuff. So stockholders pull their money out of the company.

I bet not too many "stockholders" are taking anything out at $5.00/share. They dont take a dime out unless the company pays a dividend. This is going to hurt a lot more people than just the unions.

what can we do, we the people are nothing..individually..but we should get together and seize the country back...we should make a citizen's arrest on the corrupt c.e.o like they used to britain before it became full of wimpy soccer players...blame henry paulson and company former C.E.O of goldman sachs, current treasury secretary....i mean why would he resign to a job paying him millions of dollar a year to wanting federal salary of less than 1 million....i dont about u, but this seems to fishy and fraudulent
