Default Saved my trip. Thank you all for the great advice.

Hi:
I traveled to Williamsburg, VA to see my brother in my 2005 Black X-fire on Friday, 350 miles from home.

I do not why or how I got a premonition of getting flat tired, paranoid? Yes.

I searched this forum and made a list of items I would need if sh-t happened. So, I bought nose pliers, pair gloves and a flat fix kit from AutoZone all under 12.00, before leaving home.

After spending time with my brother, I left on Sunday evening and was driving on I-95 N in the middle of a thunderous night. While reaching for a sip of water, I felt the car run funny.

A rest area was near by, where I stopped and found punctured rear right rear tire. I knew that calling AAA would be a time waster, so I decided to fix the flat under the light of the rest area. This was the first time I attempted to fix a flat. I followed the instructions and within 40 minutes all was well.

I happily made it home and during my journey back home I was thinking about the members who had made the rule to always keep the above paraphernalia in the car.

I want to thank the members for the sound advice.

How about leaving on a happier note? -------I found this post on my motorcycle forum. I am sure you will have mixed feelings for this idiot. If you need a laugh read this:

Glad it worked out for ya.
The tire plugs and pliers went into my car the day I brought it home.
It is the best way to get back on the road and the easiest fix in most cases.

I may have missed something, but how did you reinflate the tire?

I have a flat repair kit, too (Thanks, forum members!) but spent $30 on a 12V pump. I hope my experience goes as smoothly as yours, if I'm ever in that situation.

Cheers,

Alex

Don't you have the pump that came with the car?

Welcome to the forum, anjumkha. Glad the info helped for your flat tire. There is so much more info available on this forum from our highly Crossfire-educated members. That link almost made me p!ss myself laughing. It had to be a joke, right? I can't believe someone could be so stupid and then post about it

With reference to the link...the Audi "Honda mechanic" forgot to add the 5 gallons of polish along with the sand. How else to you get it ported and polished?

I really hope that was a joke. It was a great laugh.
