Default Won't Turn Over

I've had my 04 for nearly a year now, never had an once of trouble out of it. Got home from work today parked her in the driveway, went back out later to go out for the night, turn the key and NOTHING ! All the dash lights, fan motors, etc. etc. are working so I'm taking it the battery is good and hot, but the engine will not turn over.
I took the batteries out of the key fob, but didn't have any way to test them, so I swapped'em around and put'em back in the fob. Still nothing !
Any suggestions ?

If you push and hold either the lock or unlock button and look at the red transmitter, a RED LED will flash.. if the batteries are good.

I'd try replacing the batteries..as a first step..

When you turn the key does the starter click or make any noise?
Does the horn sound normal?
Check the battery ground (neg) cable for corrosion and good ground.
Is the gas cap on tight?
Try shifting through the gate several times (if automatic)

Hope it's something simple.

The LED flashes once each time I push the lock or unlock button, so I guess the batteries in the key fob are good. Raised the hood checked the battery cables for corrosion, both are clean and seem to be tight.

FTroop all the electricals seem to be fine, the starter does not even attempt to turn over, no click or anything when I go to the start position with the key. I also held the brake and ran the shifter back and forth from Drive to Park several times. Nothing ! Could it be a fuse or some kind of sensor out of whack ?

Stogey, you can access the shop manual at http://www.hollywooddigitalimaging.c...SFIRE/Test.pdf
give it time to download. I can't find anything definite and section 8d is not there. Sorry I can't help, I'm sure one of our techsperts will come up with a solution.

Do a search for no start. There is a conection in a module under the hood that gives intermitten no start conditions.
It has happened a lot on here. Look here:

Thanks CFF ! I actually did a search last night on NO START it was late, I was tired and frustrated that my Baby wouldn't cooperate. I read thru a couple of posts on this thread, just didn't read far enough ! My Bad !

Yeah that sounds exactly like my problem, everything freakin works except the starter. But come to think of it, I can't remember if I heard the fuel pump kick on or not ??? Since the pump is part of that circuit then I shouldn't hear the fuel pump running up to prime the system, should I ??? That should pretty much nail it down if it's the relay control module.

Sorry for all the questions and such, this car is outta warranty, I cringe to think of takin it to a dealer and I don't wanna just be throwing parts at it .

Curley , if you haven't tried this yet, make sure your battery connectors are nice and tight. I had this problem with the exact symptoms about 18 months ago., and once I tighten the connectors it's been fine.

Ok, I think I've answered my own questions here so I'll post this for some other poor schmuck who's havin the same issue !
So started her up in driveway, let her warm up a minute as is customery took her down the street everything seemed fine. I needed some cash and cigs so drove around the corner to the local Valero and BAM ! She died !
After some logic, I figure Ok, the cars nice and hot now, tried the key again. Sure enough I DIDN"T hear the fuel pump in the back startup, all the dash panel lights, A/C fan, radio, everything else was working. Raised the hood. located the control module over by the battery, opened it up and found the relay cluster, banged it one time against the plastic module container and damn if it didn't start and get me back home !

Long story short I'm callin MB to see if they have the Control Relay Module in stock !!!

Thanks to everyone who responded, XFire Forum Rocks !

Funny you should say that as I was going to tell you to give it a love tap and see if it started. Guess you know now that it is the module for sure. Glad to have helped.

A couple of phone calls, a fax to MB Austin, 157 bucks and the module will be here tomorrow by 10am.

Hey Stogey, let me know what part number they sell you, 5099007AA or A 170 545 03 05. It looks like the a 170 545 03 05 (the MB #) is a lot cheeper than the MOPAR number.

Paul, I'm 99.9% sure this will fix the problem. Once when it did die on me, I removed the control module in a Valero parking lot, gave it a lil "Love Tap" and the darn thing started !
Someone clued me in that this is part of the fuel pump circuit also and when this happens you will not here the fuel pump running to prime the system in the Key On Position.

Just my Dos Centavos !

Nope, engine would not turn over !
All the accessories worked ! Radio, lighting, A/C everything came on at the turn of the key with two exceptions.....the fuel pump and starter ! I couldn't even hear a relay click when the key was turned to the start position.
Opened the hood, gave the control module a lil tap, well it was more like a lil whack The starter then engaged and away we went. Replaced the module and haven't had it happen since, all be it, it's only been a few days.
